[up][up]Wart has been used a total of once for Mario and that game was All Just a Dream.

And Donkey Kong and Wario characters in a Mario RPG? Seriously?

Would have been nice to have Wart in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

And I don't see what would be wrong with having DK or Wario show up in an RPG game. Perhaps have Wario and Waluigi as a boss in a Mario & Luigi game?

[up][up] Not like they don't show up everywhere else as is. Sports, Platformers, Party games... well, Wart's notable, but considering the RPG's are highly different from everything else, having him cameo or show up wouldn't be odd. I wish he actually made an appearance in Dream Team, since it fits his original type of appearance, in a dream.

Also, not seeing an honest problem with this either.

I wouldn't mind Wario and Waluigi becoming Those Two Bad Guys or something in a Mario & Luigi game.

They wouldn't even have to directly tie to the main bad guys, just have them snoop around to try and steal treasure, or something. (They'd do at least one important plot thingy, though. Have them tie in somehow.)

I was thinking more along the lines of Wario Ware, honestly.

I'd love Wario and Waluigi to be in a Mario and Luigi game, personally.

Yeah, for all the problems I had with Sticker Star, none of them had anything to do with being limited to existing Mario characters.

He thought it was "too complex" which doesn't really apply to the story you could gather from Galaxy.

Yeah, so he simplified said complex story in Galaxy 2. :/

And I think people really overstate Miyamoto's control of Sticker Star. The stickers, the lack of partners, the un-RPG-like structure, the minimal cast, that was all Intelligent Systems.

Whether it's overstated or not, Miyamoto is the main reason Sticker Star turned out the way it did.

[up][up]I don't know about that. Miyamoto's influence on SS was bad enough where I want him to stay away from the next title, but after all the bewildering decisions that went into SS (most of the puzzles being guessing games, the only reward for battle being coins and stickers... for future battles) without Miyamoto's recommendation, can we really be sure it would have turned out much better if Intelligent Systems had made a more traditional sequel? I'd mainly attribute SS turning out as iffy as it did to its being the first Paper Mario not to be directed (or worked on in any way) by series regular Ryota Kawade.

For all the crap people give Sticker Star (myself included), I did enjoy it enough to beat it once. Ironically, though, I think my enjoyment of the game had more to do with its charm and aesthetics rather than anything gameplay related.

To me, Sticker Star and Super are 2 sides of the same coin:

Super: pretentious overbloated story with (2) interesting characters, unexciting visuals, bland music and bland gameplay.

Sticker: No story, no actual characters, interesting gameplay and great visuals and music.

So for me them just making a new actual RPG would be the best route.

Super was great. Better than the first Paper Mario personally. Never played SS, and from what I've heard I'm not inclined to try it out.

Long Mario Golf: World Tour trailer. Looks like there's at least six different Mario-themed 9-hole courses (Yoshi Lake, Peach Gardens, Cheep Cheep Lagoon, Wiggler Park, the Donkey Kong one, and the Boo one). Combined with the three full 18-hole courses, that puts World Tour's hole count at the same number as 64 and Toadstool Tour, if we exclude the somewhat lame minigolf and Par 3-only courses. I can live with that.

I'm fond of Super Paper Mario and consider it very enjoyable. Though I'd like the next game to return to the style of the first two.

I haven't played Sticker Star, but from what I've watched/heard I don't want to touch it.

I adore the first two Paper Mario games, especially TTYD. I enjoyed the plot and tone of Super but the gameplay isn't all that great and it seriously lacks replay value (I generally have to wait long enough for me to forget about most of the puzzles and whatnot before I feel like replaying it). I have yet to play Sticker Star and while I want to, it's really low on my list.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

Paper Mario was fun, Thousand Year Door was cool, Super Paper Mario was neat (I almost had every card except for the Whacka before my Wii crashed to pieces), and Sticker Star was cute. Wish the last one was longer though.

I recall Intelligent Sysstem saying they were going to make the fourth Paper Mario game similar TTYD. Then Miyamoto ironically enough told them to do something else because he felt it was too similar to TTYD.

As for Super Paper Mario, I loved that game. It had the best story, best villains, and best soundtrack out of the series.

Truly an underrated gem.

[up]I know. That's why I said I'm not sure it would have turned out much better if they'd done a traditional Paper Mario game as planned.

[up][up]He said that it was exactly like The Thousand-Year Door. He thought there should be something new instead of just making a lazy rehash, but it was the other developers who decided to throw out most of the existing mechanics.

All this talk about character backstory sounds greek to me. I never knew mario games had Character Development and stories for said development to even occur. LOL. All I know is mario & co provide the most fun excuse plots for me. Also in line with Wart talk, would like him in smash. He would fit that roster fine. Then mouser in mario kart. Just saying. ^-^
