Yeah, gyaru runs the gamut from "oh hey, that's kinda nice" to "WTF?"
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianMore distracted by the "Mayor Underpants" in the URL.
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianCircle lenses make me a sad Furiko.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Circle lenses are one of those things where you either don't notice them (and therefore, what's the point?) or they look horrible.

"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianShe herpin'
I spread my wings and I learn how to fly....Aren't they bad for your eyes, anyway? I've heard they can scratch them if you aren't careful.
This◊ amuses me. No, I wouldn't, pal, because outside of lolita wearing a single designer head-to-toe is considered tacky, knock-offs or no. I would, however, carry an LV handbag and wear knockoff Ferragamo shoes.

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Heh. I find myself kinda intimidated by lolita purists. x///x
@Furiko: Yeah, but any contacts can do that if they're not the right shape/size for your eyes.
Also, the whole replicas = bad thing is vaguely irritating. I can kind of understand the whole stealing prints thing, but it bothers me when someone makes a dress that's shaped similarly to a brand dress and people bitch. There's only so many classic designs out there guys!

"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianAgree. And some of us can't afford super expensive name brands. ;_;
For serious. Shit's expensive, yo. Not to mention that my bone structure means that I'd never fit into brand even if I was just skin and bones.
One of these days though, I'm going to actually sit down and make my own stuff though (Probably similar to this. I'm seriously in love with that dress).

"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -Drunkscriblerian(Ah, Mary Magdalene has the most gorgeous dresses! <3) Cool, I've always admired home-made lolita outfits. ^_^ Especially considering they take a lot of effort to make. Good luck~

It's a toss up as to if I like Mary Magdelene or Victorian Maiden better. They're both pretty similar.
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianHence why they are both my favourite loli brands. xD Although Baby, The Stars Shine Bright has a special place in my heart.
Baby's kind of hit-or-miss for me, but I'm not much of a sweet person. I lean more towards classic/goth. ^^;
Also, as a side note, am I the only person who thinks Alice and the Pirates' Vampire Requiem print is kinda fug?
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianThat's... not very attractive. :/
For some reason, it's insanely popular, and I just don't get it. It looks... pixelated. >_>;
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianMy favourites, too! *starry-eyes* Mary Magdalene is so lotus-like... if ever I were to wear lolita seriously, classic or goth would be my focus. Though shirololi is extremely good at hypnotizing me. ^_^;
Ugh, I think the company whose sizing annoys me the most is Moi-même-Moitié. >_< I love so much of what they put out (I'm a sucker for that inverted-wax-scratch look), but goddamn it, I could crush the girls who fit into the stuff with my tits alone!
Re: Vampire Requiem - I'll just let Moony's opinion stand without comment: "... why?"
It really does look like someone's airheadedly-witchy aunt bought Halloween fabric and went to town.

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!Moitie's definitely gotten better over the years. I remember when Mana first got into Lolita, and it was a whole lot of "wut?" going on. Some of the older stuff is just terrible. x_x;
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianYeah. The older stuff was... not that great x///x
But yeah, the whole sizing thing's a pain in the ass, with online orders and all...
Ohh, have you seen Kamikaze Girls? One of the main characters is a lolita (of the sweet variety). I recommend it; it's so funny/cute~ ^-^

I don't quite get the love for Iron Gate, personally. The new stained-glass design is so much nicer!
^ His existence amuses me.
And isn't Kamikaze Girls the one with that chick who shakes down her dad for brand money by concocting a sob story about a classmate havin' a rough time of it? ... yeah, I don't like to judge things without watchin' 'em, but that's the kind of thing I file under bitchy behaviour.
Also, *hugs you for being maybe the first person I've ever seen spell Kamikaze right in this context*
(Why can't lolis spell? It's not ladylike to be illiterate anymore!)

A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!I kinda wish that the Holy Stained Glass print went all the way around the skirt though, instead of just on the front. It's so pretty. @_@
Also, the babble at the bottom of his prints kind of makes me lol.

"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianYep. She's a selfish bitch, but it's an amusing work nonetheless. *hugs back XD*

Whaddya think about all the princess-inspiration stuff?
I can't really get into it as much as everyone else; my favourite fairy tale as a kid was Puss in Boots. My favourite princesses were Elizabeth Tudor and Cleopatra Philopater, who were decidedly not sweet and kindhearted. The closest I have to a gentle princess who inspired me was Jeanne d'Arc.
A True Lady's Quest - A Jojo is You!
^_^; Well, turnin' men off is part of the point; they kept getting harassed by creepy old guys who fetishized the lighter 'kogal'◊ style.◊
