I'll agree that the seventh gen was way too long.
Though the 6th gen technically ended in 2012 when the PS 2 was discontinued, but the gap between the 6th and 7th gen for Nintendo was 5 years. Overall, 6th gen was 1998 (Japanese launch of Dreamcast)-2012 (When all 4 6th gen consoles were finally discontinued, the PS 2 being the one discontinued in 2012).

You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Kostya: Didn't Wii U come out the same year it was shown at E3? I felt like that was 2012.
I think it was actually revealed at E3 2011?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! No. I remember because the first time it was shown off it had the 3DS style circle pads but by the next year they were proper analog sticks.
That's possible, but that doesn't feel right to me. 2011 was only the second E3 I watched, and I feel like there was a year between the 3DS and Wii U's reveals.
I'm probably wrong though.
It was revealed in 2011. Which in hindsight was probably a mistake. Trickling out info for over a year (a lot of it being disappointing as well) was likely a factor in making people tired of hearing about it before they even got their hands on the console. The other two consoles had a less than a year reveal-release schedule, and that mostly worked out. It's one thing Nintendo should copy from their competition unless they have another Wii on their hands.
the 3DS was revealed in 2010. I know because I watched all of Nintendo's E3 Conferences/Directs since 2010.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I know it was revealed in 2010. That was my first E3. Like I said, I thought there was an E3 between 2010 and the Wii U reveal.
The first E3 I watched was the one we had during the release year. I know the Wii U was already a thing when I watched that since it wasn't the first time I was seeing it.
According to the other wiki, the Wii U was announced as Project Cafe in April 2011 and a prototype shown off at E3 2011.
Anyways, my prediction about the NX is Nintendo wants to release it soon after it's announced to avoid any sort of fatigue like what happened with the Wii U, and to also be similar to the PS 4 and XBO.
Press conference announcement: February/March 2016, show off at E3 2016, date announcements in September 2016 for Holiday release.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Nintendo likes the E3 reveal. There's be a spring leak, but they won't say anything until June.
To me, the NX rumors and speculations has gotten out of hand, and with no substantial substance other than Nintendo isn't abandoning the console market anytime soon. I don't think it's going to be released in 2016 as some might say. And I definitely see it as some wishful placeholder for a fan's dream to be the ultimate console (or beat the PS 4 and Xbox One in "Next-Gen"), regardless the cost to make such a thing. And that to me is only going to create unnecessary hype and sets up the inevitable disappointment because of how vague the console rumor is speculated to be.
I say hold off all speculations or hype for the NX until we see something more than just a quote stating "It's in the workings". Because, quite frankly, that's what Nintendo normally does immediately after releasing the Wii U. That's what Sony does after releasing the PS 4. And that's what Microsoft does after releasing the Xbox One. I don't what it is, and I don't care till I see what it actually does. I'll rather focus on what's coming up, like Super Mario Maker and Star Fox Zero (or for me, Splatoon since I still haven't gotten that game yet).

Except we know for a fact that they'll be talking about NX at next year's E3. They said as much in the digital event this year.
They'll be talking about it next year, don't get me wrong. But if I don't know what the console truly is (people here are flip flopping on whether it's a hybrid or not), I cannot bring myself to care. Till I see this console myself as an actual model rather than just words and concept, that will continue. I didn't care about Nintendo 3DS till it was officially unveiled at E3 2010, with Kid Icarus Uprising as it's big promotion. Likewise, I didn't give much thought about Project Cafe till it was unveiled as the Wii U. The big beef I have with this NX speculation is that it's feels premature and jumping ship or conclusions too soon.
I'll just wait till it actually shows itself. But for now, I really need to get Splatoon someday.

Hey, jumping to conclusions is the only exercise some people on the internet get.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpRight up there with mental gymnastics.
"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."Or the bare-knuckle deathmatches that are the internet argument.. Great cardio.
I finished Wonderful 101, and it was so much fuuuuun. The core gameplay was awesome, when you got used to it, and the story is this wonderful cheesefest that never lets up, except when it tries to be heartfelt and succeeds. Ugh, just so so very fun.
Now I need Bayonetta and 2
"Curry killed the pussy hoping that I could kill the hate in you" - Curry, D. "TABOO | TA13OO." TA13OO, PH, 2018It's stating the obvious but make sure you play the first game, well, first. Story aside, going from the worse game to the better game is always the best idea.

And don't give a damn about your rank the first time through. It's not a forgiving game.
I have a message from another time..."don't give a damn about your rank" is my attitude when playing 3D Sonic games.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Getting S Rank on a Sonic game is pure cakewalk compared to getting Pure Platinum on Bayonetta.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Or Wonderful 101.
Or Metal Gear Rising.
I feel like Platinum Games has a history of demanding perfection yet giving you awkward controls or outright glitchiness that make that sort of precision way harder than it should be.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! That's the second time I've heard someone say that a Platinum game has awkward controls yet I've always found them, for the ones that I've played, to be very smooth, highly responsive, and easy to learn.
Part of me thinks it's because the genre that games made by Platinum usually fit into require a great amount of skill, practice, and understanding to do well and most people just don't have the baseline and don't have the desire to work their way up. However, I have no proof of that.

It being released in late 2016 or 2017 sounds about right, as that gave the Wii U about 4-5 years on the market, which is normal for most consoles.
Many forget that it was only five years between the sixth and seventh generation of consoles. It's just that the last generation far overstayed its welcome for many.
