Yay, N64 VC still lives. Wasn't sure if it was still alive. Now get Pokemon Snap up there. And tell Nintendo of America to get those Wii games they're holding back up.
Seriously? How many times have they rereleased that game?
Seriously, i was looking on wikipedia, and imagine my surprise that Japan already has the first Super Mario Galaxy.

I wouldn't consider VC a rerelease. The entire point is that it's a platform to play older games, and Ocarina of Time is possibly their most popular older game.
So not counting the Wii and Wii U, I believe it's twice. The Master Quest on Gamecube, and Ocarina 3D on 3DS.
I would have bought it if not for the fact that I already have the 3DS version.
Also again on GCN when it was a collection of Zelda, Zelda II, Oo T, and Majora's Mask.
It was bundled with some GCN's when the price was dropped to $99 in the US.
Ocarina of Time Master Quest was only for people that preordered Wind Waker.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'm just gonna come on out and say it. I feel that OOT has simply not aged well.
Looking back on it now, OOT has a very slow start and things don't really pick up until you get the Master Sword.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It's aged better than some other games of its era, I'd say.
I have a message from another time...That seems like a bit of a strange thing to say considering every other 3D Zelda has an even slower start than OoT.
How does it have a slow start? You're finished a dungeon and in Hyrule Field within the first hour of playtime. Do you know where you get within the first hour of Twilight Princess? Nowhere. I don't think you're even a wolf yet by that point. The pacing in the first part of the game is brisk.
Yeah, OOT doesn't hesitate at all to throw you into shit head first. You literally wake up, get armed, and go to war.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyAside from graphics and framerate (both of which are fine in the 3DS version), Ocarina has aged near perfectly. The pacing is the best of the 3D Zeldas, the dungeons have strong and creative designs even to this day, the world is large and filled with things without being bloated, the story and characters are effective, the combat is simple but works perfectly fine, and the whole package could easily hold up as a $60 game if it came out in HD today as a new game. Definitely if you include the Master Quest.

Aged a hell of a lot better than FF 7, its strongest competitor for best game of its generation.
Ok what I meant to say the first quarter has some moments but it gets slow overall. Not to mention that to me, OOT started the trend of slow introductions/beginnings before throwing the wham stuff at you to pump you up for more of the story.
Yes, you do your first dungeon pretty early, but then it's more exposition, followed by a long trek through Hyrule Field, then you have to do the side quest of hatching an egg, which takes several minutes. Then you sneak into the castle for even more exposition. Then you have to go back to learn Saria's Song and then do the long trek to Death Mountain to play the song to Darunia so you can get the bracelets needed to let you use bomb flowers; and that's before the 2nd dungeon!
They expo-dump you on and off as you progress in the child portion of the game, but that eases up a lot once you start doing the temples themselves as an adult. Granted, I still like the game, but looking at it again as a much older person, it's not as good to me as I remembered.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.I get the info-dumps, but the game is slow because you have to travel and do things to get into dungeons?
I still don't see what that has to do with the game's age, that doesn't sound much different from the new games. It sounds more like you're talking about your feelings changing with your age.
Sorry, but I lost the ability to take this particular complaint seriously when you claimed that hatching the chicken slowed things down.
The day/night cycle in Ocarina is not that long, and it'll probably almost be morning by the time you get to Talon. So that's a really weak complaint.
The traveling is slow because Link is generally slow and you don't have any way to make traveling faster until later. But I think right now we're getting off the rails again and should probably find a Zelda thread for it.
There's rumors of the Nintendo NX starting production later this year. Wonder what it will entail to next year.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Eh. Rumors.
I have a message from another time...Well Nintendo did say they'd talk about the NX at E3 2016. Methinks it's going to be yet another gimmick to try and stand out.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. The rumor's source isn't to be trusted on this.
re:Zelda Ocarina of Time: It has very deliberate pacing throughout. Most of the 3D Zeldas are. It's not fast and snappy or even particularly witty, even if the N64 original's dark tone is a result of the hardware's inability to produce the brighter visuals that eventually made their way into Oo T 3 D.

By the way, I looked it up. Day in Ocarina of Time is two and a half minutes, and night is one minute and 20 seconds.
-sigh-
... Anyone know if I can remove a miiverse post that's already been deleted by the administrator? My sister went on my account and drew a big dick that I need to see every time I look at my post history now.
So do you guys recommend the VC version of Ocarina of Time? I've never played the game.
Orcarina of Time is out on the Virtual Console today.
