@Kostya: Well, I'll give you the others, but Pokémon does have a few spinoffs in the 3DS shop. Not that it helps much on the Wii U, but, well, yeah...
Maybe Shulk could unlock a demo version of Xenoblade Chronicles or its sequel? Could be good marketing for those.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.amiibo Tap only gives you NES and SNES games. None of those franchises existed back then.
I'm suggesting expanded functionality. Like I said, for amiibos that have relevant upcoming games, it could be good marketing to have them unlock demos of those upcoming games. Just tossing ideas around here, man.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Why would you tie demos for new games to amiibo? They would just...put out a demo.
This. Nintendo already is well aware that the Amiibo stock is just awful right now. That's why Amiibo cards exist in general, to be cheaper and more reliable to produce. Albeit, it's Animal Crossing only for now, but still.
Just put out the demo. Forcing us to find an Amiibo that often you can only get online could even be more overall than the price of the original game you're getting the demo of. It's kind of a waste of money to tie demos to amiibos. With a good chunk of them highly scarce besides a specific wave or few of a wave, most customers are left out in the dust. It's a neat idea, but will not work until they fix their stock problem severely, as well as force companies to not sell more than barely 2 at most of any to a single person(which stops scalping heavily, or weakens it). Remember, finding some Amiibos are near impossible without paying tons of cash. 200 euros for some is ridiculous due to scalping. But what can people do? It's not actually illegal, after all. It's just being a jerk at best.
Seems to me like the game is more like a way to promote VC games, since those generally don't have demos, the Masterpieces section of the extras in Smash Bros aside. I guess it might be kind of nice for them to expand to demos of GBA, N64, and DS games eventually, but yeah, they kind of already have a system in place for demos of upcoming games.
Speaking of VC, I do already have Paper Mario from the original Wii Shop, so it might be worthwhile to download it for the reduced price eventually. Kinda doubt I'd have time to play it though, so maybe not for a little while.
Am I the only one who wants to see the original Star Fox SNES game released on the eShop?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Yes, yes you are. Out of all the billions of people in the world, you are literally the only one that wants that game put up on the VC.
I detect your sarcasm, bud.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!I'd like Skies Of Arcadia on the VC.
I still want to play that game, and won't stop kicking myself for missing it on Game Cube.
One Strip! One Strip! Is it going for a ton on E-Bay/Amazon? Assuming you can get it online, go for it. It should be findable. Or if you have a junk shop of sorts for old games. I've found some awesome stuff myself back then(Darkwing Duck is one of the best purchases I ever made. I still am bad at the game, but it is a very good and challenging platformer(with shooting elements). Or metroidvania, I guess, technically).
Anyway, I'd love to see GC ones come to the VC. Wait, I forget, didn't they bring Wii games over? Are any GC ones on the Wii U VC?
There are downloadable Wii games now, but they're not exactly VC. They don't have extra features like savestates except for off-TV play and gamepad usage for a select few games. Don't expect the Gamecube VC to come until they figure out what to do about the GC controller adapter.
Jesus people, I was just tossing around ideas, not saying "THEY ABSOLUTELY MUST DO THIS." If you're gonna shoot them down so offhandedly, at least come up with a suggestion for a better idea.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Ah. Good point. Didn't think about the adapter, but at least they can now program the release to work like that.
And noted for the Wii games. Makes sense.
Hey guys. I just want to say that I am extremely sorry for my outburst yesterday. I don't know exactly what was going through my mind, other than just a feeling of bitterness over all the negative comments about Nintendo getting thumbs uped on multiple other sites. What I sad was rude and immature, and I just want to apologize for that.
Anyways, who is gonna watch the Splatoon Direct?
Hey! I love to post negative arguments against Nintendo on other sites just to see them counterargued, too!
I thought I was weird.
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Relax, we all have those days. God knows I've had more than enough of them.
Anyway, I plan on it. I made a post about it earlier (it's at the top of this page, in fact) no one said anything.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!People being forgiven for things they said? On the internet?!
Moved handles because mehIs this Splatoon Direct going to give the game an official release date? Because I just checked and it looks like it still has the rather vague release window of "May 2015". Technically they could be bringing it out today, for all we know.
Edit: Nevermind, I just checked another source and it said May 29th. That does make more sense.

I will say this: Rooting for Nintendo is like rooting for W; we all anticipate and fear the next time they screw up next, but we root for them anyway because it's our home, our life, our team, no matter what mistakes go around. We all hope for a brighter future.
That's a good way to put it.
One Strip! One Strip! We've known Splatoon's release date since the last main Direct. And for a retail game they wouldn't suddenly reveal the release date the day of. They have to get the game to retailers after all, and that would mean inevitable leaks.
Rooting for W? Who or what is that?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!W for Wumbo. Obviously.
I have a message from another time...
A new Direct will be coming 5/7 at 7 AM PT. It's apparently focusing on Splatoon.
Also, Paper Mario is now on the Wii U VC.
