Prime Trilogy get. Don't have time to play it anytime in the near future, but $3.33 for each Prime digitally is one of the best deals of all time. Everyone better get it.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences. So it looks like Chuggaa and the Runaway Guys will go more for the per-video deal (unless Polaris completely renders it redundant).
Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.Thought I'd let everyone know that the Metroid Prime trilogy is close to 7.8 gigs. So if you don't already, it's best to invest in an external harddrive soon.
Mine is still downloading hours later...
Granted that is more due to my slow download speeds than anything else.
I'm actually still okay on the disc space considering the vast majority of my downloaded software is VC games.
So, I was thinking to start getting into Metroid by getting the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Super Metroid.
Hefty looking download, especially with Smash already taking up a huge chunk of the Wii U space, but I think I can manage. I was wondering how Super Metroid works out, though.
Like, I can afford to get it off Club Nintendo, but it says I'd need a classic controller. However, I do have a Gamecube controller adapter. So the question I'm trying to ask is: Can I still use a Gamecube controller to play it, or do I have to go and get a classic controller?
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanI'm not sure if Gamecube controllers work on virtual console games running on the Wii U.
I also got the Trilogy, but I had 5 bucks already in my account, so I just paid the other $5. STEAL!
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.Super Metroid Wii supports the Gamecube controller. But the Wii U can't use Gamecube controllers in anything except Smash. Get Super Metroid off Club Nintendo and pay the $1.50 upgrade fee to use a pro controller or the gamepad.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Yeah, even if you have to pay $1.50, it's well worth it for Super Metroid, and probably cheaper than trying to find a Wii Classic Controller if you don't have one too. And don't forget you'd be getting the ability to create save states and off-TV play.
Anyway, this should be a good download. I do still own Prime 3, as well as Prime 1 for Gamecube. I never actually finished the first game and I've never even played the second. Seems like playing the first two games with Wii controls should be a less frustrating experience.
Man, Metroid's just one of those series that I'm surprised I never discovered sooner. I'm old enough to have played Super Metroid as a kid, and I probably would have loved it back then too, but somehow I didn't discover it until its Wii VC release when I was in college.
Man, I'm divided for this one. On the one hand, this is a stupidly good deal for a trilogy I never played thoroughly. On the other hand, I'm no good at Metroidvania style games (when I had the chance of playing the first Prime, I eventually got completely lost), and if Mewtwo's DLC for Smash costs more than 8 bucks, I'd be in a bit of trouble.

"Yeah, it's a shame. Here we are in an underground cave with all these lasers, and instead of having a rave we're using it for evil."$1.50 upgrade fee? I'm looking around the Club Nintendo site and I don't see options for an upgrade.
Does it happen when I go to make the purchase for it?

mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanYou get the Wii version from Club Nintendo then you go to the Wii U's eShop and the game will be offered there at a discount.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Oh, alright. So, once more to make sure I have it all clear.
Getting it off Club Nintendo gets me the Wii version, and then when I go into the Wii U e-shop, I can get it for a $1.50? As opposed to the $7 I'd normally pay for it?

mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanThat's right.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Awesome. Thanks everyone.
mario is red, i am green, i try my best, but everyone's meanI suck at Metroidvania style games too(Sometimes I feel like I am playing Pixelbitching: The Game), but I am going to give it a try anyways. I love the atmosphere of the Metroid games even if I am not that great at them.
Can you explain that term to me?
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Pixel Hunt by another name.
I have a message from another time...I'm trying to think of a Metroidvania that's like that (ignoring secret areas that contain optional stuff) and the only thing that comes to mind is Other M and Castlevania II.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!I really suck at them so I miss a lot of stuff that may seem obvious to others. I remember when I first played the first Prime years ago I got stuck under a cliff for forever until I realized there was a rock at the bottom of the cliff you could bomb to go back up.

Having beaten SOTN at least four times, I don't understand that at all.
Of course, I play a lot of Metroidvanias so situations like never come up.

Sorry, I misinterpreted you.
But you have to touch very specific places to finish the map.
I remember several games in the NES era that have the Pixel Hunt
Is this a Jo Jo reference?
YES! METROID PRIME TRILOGY IS ON ESHOP NOW FOR $10 DOLLARS!!
