This looks EPIC!
It sure is a thing!
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith. The controller could've been designed better, though.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more! Now I can play a lot more games portable.
Nintendo isn't targeting Microsoft or Sony with this system. They are taking on Apple.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?I like it.
Just need money in year or so D:
It still needs be a certain distance from the system. It's not fully portable.
I have a message from another time...I don't know what I think. I need to get hands-on with it.
I'm still confused.
They were calling it a console, but it seemed like it was just a controller with a screen. Then I left for a while and they were announcing games for it when I came back.
So does this thing play games completely independent of the Wii or not?
Analog sticks. Above. Buttons.
This scares the living crap out of me.
Other than that, they might have finally gotten it at least somewhat right. N64 had three prongs, gamecube was missing a shoulder button and had a silly nub stick, GBA was missing a button and the 3DS only has ONE pad. The ergonomics are still unknown, but at least the layout is proper.
Bleye knows Sabers.God I hope so.

I'm going to hold off on any judgment of how comfortable the controller feels until I actually get my hands on it and try it myself. It does look less comfortable than the HD twins (are they triplets now, with this thing now in the ring?), but who knows, maybe it's not much worse than holding my Kindle and if not then it's still over a year away.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith. It's a new system, with a new controller.
It also has backwards compatibility to the Wii, and I'm guessing the Gamecube as well.
Its strength is greater than the Wii. Also more than the other HD systems, if rumors are true.
I have a message from another time...Also, important point to make: there is a box, it looks a little like a Wii with rounded corners. For some reason they didn't highlight it at all during the conference, but it has full 1080p output.
The blind man walking off the cliff is not making a leap of faith.I agree about the analog stick above buttons.
HORRID HORRID IDEA.
Elsewhere on the Web, torches and pitchforks have been raised over a console they know maybe five or so things about and bitching and moaning about the discomfort of a controller they've never actually held.
I love the internet.
Me, I'm optimistic. I want to hear what people on the showfloor think of the controller and how it feels first before making my own opinions, and from what I've seen game-wise it looks awesome.
And in record time, I've already grown sick of people making Wii U name jokes.
I'm sure they'll find a way to make it a more comfortable..whatever it is.
If it can play games independent of the Wii then I'd probably buy it eventually, if not I don't really see much point in getting it.
Um... that's the console itself, bro.

Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. No GCN backwards compatibility going by the fact sheet.
Sads. HD GCN titles would have been cool.
Prehaps they are putting it on the VC?
Name sounds like an ambulance siren.
WIIUUWIIUUUWIIUUWIIUUUWII!
Other than that, I honestly don't know what to say about it.

@Mac: Maybe Nintendo should make names that aren't so easy to make fun of.
What? Apple's inability to properly capitalize and space nouns isn't easy to make fun of?
inb4 Penny Arcade rehashing this strip.
Just about the size factor I guess, because it's been reported as being light otherwise.

@Komodin: That's what I meant. >.> People seem confused by the lack of the console, and I was pointing out there was one. I just called it a box because I'm weird.
