King Of Fighters general

I want to see that butler guy from XI comeback (don't remember his name at the moment, but the guy who's the template for the most recognized version of Colonel Sanders on MUGEN).

Oswald? Yeah, i'm surprised he hasn't been brought back. Unless it was that he was too expensive to animate for XIII. (Apparently, he had really fluid and complex animations)

He's probably the best KOF character they've come up with since the NESTS saga.

I'm kind of surprised that there will be more DLC characters past the first four. That makes 15 total, so does that mean they'll eventually be grouped into five teams?

Oswald is boss. Much cooler than Shen Woo.

Though I notice a lot of people say he's primarily influenced by Gambit, and while yeah partially, he seems closer to Alhambra "Dandyman" Tubalcain from Hellsing since he actually slices with the cards especially in close combat.

The Gambit comparison likely comes mostly from the LDM. At least all of the cards hit, unlike Gambit...

The only thing they have in common is that LDM and a card theme.

I like Gambit and I still think his design looks like hot ass compared to Oswald.

Yes, Oswald, Heidern, and Jubei Yamada are all part of the leak list. Shingo Yabuki and Blue Mary are also in the leak list, two characters that I was saddened didn't make the final cut in the game originally, and would definitely like to see the return of. Hinako's also in the list, and I'm honestly kinda curious to see how she could pull off sumo wrestling with her design. The character I'm most curious about on this list though is Sissel. I searched their name on the SNK Wiki and couldn't find anything, so I'm guessing that Sissel is a new character.

Hinako ugggggh. Never liked her. I get what they were going for but she's just a lame character to me.

And Jubei :/ guess KOF 14 needed its Hwa Jai as that FF guy no one asked for.

Maybe, but I actually still like the guy, and I think he could be a kickass entry if they do him right. Play up his gumption and grit and playful side, make his commands for his judo moves a lot easier to execute, maybe give him a new fancy technique or two, and you're set. He's also a grappler with a projectile, which even now isn't something you see everyday. I liked Hwa Jai in in 13, and I have no doubt that SNK can give Jubei the same sort of treatment.

It's kind of interesting how hit or miss the FF fighters are sometimes. A lot of the really popular KOF fighters are from FF but then you have guys like Cheng and Franco. Can't say the same for Art of Fighting, which is mostly misses save for a few really stand out fighters.

Bash was actually pretty cool in his first two appearances. Than they clowned him up and made him a joke when there wasn't a clear role for him any more.

I wouldn't mind if Bob Wilson came back, but it's unlikely since we have Zarina who is one of my favs. Kind of surprised Raiden/Big Bear was barely used past FF Special since he seemed like he would be a staple. Same for Jubei.

Raiden's kind of useless with Griffon, Ramon, Clark, Daimon, Blue Mary....

I guess we could use a more traditional western style wrestler on the roster, but when we've got so many grapplers with better gimmicks I think he's kind of superfluous.

Bob isn't just invalidated by the new Capo girl, but also the vastly superior Duck King, too. DK was great in XI and I'd love to see him come back.

Are you kidding? RBFSS was when he got cool! THAT version of Bash is one of my favorite SNK characters ever. He's so over the top it's awesome. "NOOOOO!" You can't top that kind of machismo.

When I was younger and used to fixate on any Capoeira user I used to but now...

I don't really see what he brings to the table? He's just Naïve Newcomer, the Capoerista. His win poses are a thumbs up and a ginga respectively. Guy's just kinda bland.

Duck king is awesome.

His XI appearance being my fave.

The dude's got charisma. Plus a really nice VA. I just think he's a cool likable dude. Not to mention he can chain two of his special moves in RB 2 together For Massive Damage. That oughtta count for something.

Random thought (the only kind of thought I ever have):

When Mai throws her fans, do they slash, stab, or explode upon striking the target?

Based on gameplay:

They bounce off. Probably blunt force if they aren't bladed, though there's no slash sound effect when they hit, so I don't think they're slashes.

If it's her super, the fans burn the opponent but still blunt force.

I don't think the fans ever exploded.

What about when she's doing melee attacks with them?

Just for the record, I wouldn't put it past her to actually have sharp-edged steel fans somewhere in her arsenal for when she actually needs a lethal weapon (e.g. when she's on a real ninja job that requires making use of the kill-people-damn-good aspect of martial arts).

Well, when she hits you with them, she's likely enhancing it with her ki. In fact, now that I think about it, that's probably what even makes them effective weapons.

I assume this even lets her parry blows from heavy blunt weapons (like Billy's staff) or swords and knives and the like.

Guess I got my answer.

It's a series.

And it looks awful to be frank. The characters are ugly as sin and that scene they showed from it earlier makes me think it's very strictly aimed at fans of the games and no one else.
