As far as I can tell from the trope page, this is specifically about a pilot being calm during crisis, so the name should reflect that (if this is incorrect, then the trope page needs work).
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight! Not going by what Large Ham says "Contrasted by Chuck Yeager"
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!I would think trope X's description should be the go-to reference for trope X, rather than the description of some other trope.
"The Daily Show has to be right 100% of the time; FOX News only has to be right once." - Jon StewartYes. The Large Ham page could easily be incorrect, and we can edit it to fix that.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!Bump. Calm And Collected Voice is an awful title, because it just encourages more misuse. Isn't this supposed to be specifically about military-types who show little to no emotion on the radio, regardless of how dangerous the situation is?
Chuck Yeager is certainly an opaque title, but I think we can do better than the crowner options. I actually am partial to Danger Deadpan myself, but it still doesn't quite get the point across. Maybe something like Hot Situation Frosty On The Radio? A little long, but it references the Army Ranger slang of "stay frosty" on patrol. Kind of a gay thing to say in real life (we reg'lar Infantry types never say that) but I think it gets the point across, and has the added benefit of being a COD: Modern Warfare reference. Any other ideas?

"Did anybody invent this stuff on purpose?" - Phillip Marlowe on tequila, Finger Man by Raymond Chandler. That's even worse. Also no point in shoehorning a reference where it doesn't belong.
- Dangerous Situation Calm Pilot Voice
- Flight In Danger Pilot Is Calm
- Dangerous Situation Calm Announcement
- Flight In Peril Calm Pilot Tone
I dunno, too many things to try and stuff into the trope title.
"You want to see how a human dies? At ramming speed." - Emily Wong.Le bump.
Danger Deadpan is in the lead; should we call the crowner and make it the new name?
I didn't write any of that.calling in favour of Danger Deadpan.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickA'ight, I moved the page. I'll just have to change the wicks, and add notes to the stickied thread and Renamed Tropes. Hollering for the discussion page to be moved.
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."And that it. Wicks changed, notes added, and discussion moved.
"Learning without thinking is labor lost. Thinking without learning is dangerous."Thank you. Locking.
...if you don’t love you’re dead, and if you do, they’ll kill you for it.
Crown Description:
Chuck Yeager
But that sounds much broader than the trope definition. The trope is about tone of voice only. Calm During Crisis invites use to cover so much more.
Changing the name from one that's obscure but accurate to one that's misleadingly broad and will invite misuse isn't really an improvement.
