How 'bout a Disney adaptation of Paradise Lost starring Chernabog? That'd be pretty cool.

Darnit, every sarcastic suggestion we're coming up with still sounds better than the actual premise of the film.

Yay, fanfiction! I'm already reimagining Maleficent as a story about leadership and the conflict between magic and reality where you can understand both sides of the argument instead of "Disney's Twilight" or whatever sob story they're planning. You guys saw what happened the last time they told us the origin story of an iconic villainess!

EDIT: I was looking on IMDB and saw that in addition to Linda Woolverton, the screenplay is also being written by one Paul Dini. He's mainly written for shows based on DC properties, and some of his more prominent work includes the pilot of Superman The Animated Series, the Batman The Animated Series episodes "Heart of Ice," "Almost Got 'Im," "Baby-Doll" and several other episodes that humanize the villains. Maybe this can work after all.

If she's to have a time before she was evil... then make her a neutral force, who was never driven to evil but merely chose that direction because it seemed to be more fun.

Imagine if Disney did a live-action film called Disney's "Ursula".

She's have to be really, really big apparently. She thought she'd wasted away to nothing in the movie.

And everyone should know that Radcliffe was just trying to get his honor back after they laughed at him in England for being so effeminate!

...You know what? We need to write a series of parody fics where we take villains and give them silly, angsty backstories that are impossible to take seriously.

Give Lady Tremaine a really nice backstory. Have her just be an awful person.

I think I have a workable one for Negaduck...

Any action between a 16-year-old and a 40-something is going to be a teensy bit squicky if you ask me. The only reason it even gets considered here is because of the genders involved. A girl and a man (or a boy and a man) wouldn't get a pass, I don't think.

Also, nobody has a tragic backstory like Gaston's!

Brilliant. Oscar-worthy. Slap it on some celluloid and ship it to theaters.

At least he got to keep singing as he got older.

Actually relevant to movie: It doesn't seem like Queen Leah (Aurora's mother) will play an important part in this, if she even appears at all. IMDB mentions a character named Leila, but she's pretty far down on the cast list. My guess? They've somehow written her out in order to pave the way for Maleficent and Stefan getting back together as adults.

Random thought: Do you people expect this film will affect the way Maleficent's character is portrayed in future installments of the Kingdom Hearts series?

Maleficient already has a personality and a motive for Kingdom Hearts 3 and by extension, the rest of the series; conquering the worlds.

I don't think the series will change that just to reference this shitty movie.

C'mon Disney. Many people want to see Fanservice, or even nudiy in this film! :D

As long as Copely gets a decent amount of screen time, I'll be satisfied.

Oh, I thought we wanted to see a plot that didn't fail spectacularly. : P

They should have just done a movie based on that book "Fairest of All" about the Evil Queen from Snow White and how issues with her abusive father returning from the grave as the Slave of the Magic Mirror and dabbling in witchcraft lead her down that dark path.
