Oh, that's good to know.

I had to figure it'd happen since, like the interview said, you really can't just fizzle the show out on Archer's subconscious. You gotta return to the real world for some sense of closure.

Uh, well...

Guess we're already getting signs of returning to the real world. I actually wasn't expecting the cube plot to just be a bait-and-switch for Archer finally beginning to wake up.

It seems rather sudden, but I'm glad it's happening at all.

Well, that ends Season 10. And so, Archer finally wakes.

You know, oedipal though her phrasing may have been, Malory isn't exactly wrong. Archer and his mother really is the most prominent relationship on the show, moreso than his on-again-off-again romance with Lana.

That scene was very meta.

If Archer had been raised in a healthy environment with a stable upbringing, he'd probably be a zoologist.

That scene seemed... off. Like maybe he's still trying to wake up.

Though during the montage, I was thinking his self-aggrandizing fantasies were going to loop around into him dreaming about being the superspy he was in season one.

Hi everyone. I have a question to ask - do you consider Archer Camp? I was told about this series from a former friend and how it was very campy but I wondered what you all think? I mean, it has a very retro Anachronism Stew aesthetic to it along with taking every spy trope there is a turning it on their ears (at least the first couple or three seasons) and the over the topness of the characters. But I'd like other peoples thoughts on the subject.

"Camp" is a tough thing to pin down, but yeah, I'd say there's some campiness here mixed with more general satire.

A coma dimension where he woke up from the coma and had to exist within the world as it is now, only for it to not be real? That would be terrible. It would be a twist for twist's sake.

From what I know, it was quite the opposite. The creative side wanted to end it, but they kept getting offered more seasons.

The whole point of going full Blackadder was so the production team could keep interest.

Was Archer always so useless?

Well, he did atrophy for three years in that hospital, got some nerve damage, and I don't think he's been taking care of himself since waking up either.

But aside from that: pretty much, yeah. Guy's never been one for "planning" or "temperance" or "rationality". And now he's being confronted with the fact that everyone really is better of without him.

I'm wondering if they quietly wrote AJ out or Lana is just hoping Archer doesn't ask so she doesn't have to deal with having that for her biological dad.

Speaking of biological dads, I wonder if Archer's real father will be brought up this season? I suspect not, though, considering they haven't even mentioned his identity since season 4.

Didn't they already reveal it was almost certainly that one KGB dude just before killing him?

Huh, Archer finally woke up and it's back to being a spy show? I might have to try watching it again.
