I really don't think this should be merged. The locus of a Hive Mind is very different from an insect-queen type character. Sure, they can overlap, but there's no reason they have to. Maybe the solution is to split off a Bee Queen (snowcloning off Bee People) trope? Not a very good name, but the only other thing I can think of is Insect Queen, which would cause buckets of problems.

My 2 cents. A queen of a hive structured society of individuals isn't the same as the individual controlling a Hive Mind. They may overlap, but if both were already troped I'd probably be against merging unless trope differentiation is untennable.
Expanding this trope? I don't know that I'd support it, but it should save us the need to rename.
