Rayman Origins

December 5th? Where do you live? According to The Other Wiki the latest release date for it is November 25th in Europe (go figure).

The IGN review is in, and they gave it a 9.5! Also, I laughed at "Slapsolutly".

May I state that I, for one, am glad the co-op is mostly friendly fireless save for chances when you consciously decide to be a dick? Because as much as I love Kirbys Epic Yarn, the co-op was slightly frustrating as oftentimes, me and my partner ended up being our own worst enemies. And that was doing fairly innocuous things... like walking.

November 25th is the UK release date. December 5th is my birthday. Hence why I'm waiting for that date.

All the more reason to buy this game.

It still worries me, what's with Ubisoft and releasing games in such double edged dates? Rayman has to compete against sains row, Skyrim and Skyward Sword coming out.

I'll believe it when Ancel presents us with some proof they're actually letting him work on it. I think that's the second or third time they've said it, and after the India-chase sequence, nada.

Although I do remember them saying something like it'd been moved to a 3D version of Origin's engine (the Ubi Art framework). Since Ubi Art is designed to create gameplay objects and animation points directly from drawings, I'm not sure how that'd work in 3D. The only thing that comes to mind is stop motion.

Too bad Ubisoft decided to release this game in the same month as skyrim,skyward sword,Super mario 3d land,assassins creed revelations, modern derpfare 3, and saints row 3. Ubisoft is filled with dumb asses.

Why November? What is it with this month that's making everyone release their games? Now no one's gonna buy this game thanks to Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Saints Row 3, Cancer of Video Game Industryfare 3, Super Mario 3D Land, and all of that stuff.

They're the same game. The only tangible difference between them is HD or not HD. I suppose if you're crazy hardcore about things having to be in HD...

then I'll get the wii version, though I wonder why games are priced at 60 dollars yet wii games are ten bucks less?

so... who do you think might be the final boss? it could be mr.dark but now that bubble dreamer is apparently jano...

I'm starting to doubt that this game is actually a prequel. The website mentions that Rayman & friends have saved the glade before, and the bios for Mr. Dark and Betilla mention them being back, and Mr. Dark's bio specifically mentions him stealling the Great Protoon. Also, a Rayman fan site I frequent managed to rip the game's script from the demo(I haven't read it, I don't want to spoil the entire game for myself), and apperently they mention the events of Rayman 1 and Rayman 2 in the game.

So yeah, this game might just be Rayman 4.

Never played Rayman before, even though I've always wanted to. Think I'll start here. Everything about the game just looks so fanttastic.

The fan site? It was the Rayman Pirate-Community.

Word of God says it's supposed to help bridge the gap between what goes on in the first game and the way-different second game, so I have my doubts. If it's a fansite speaking, they could either be misinterpreting things or misrepresenting them.

I gots the script, and I can safely say that, yes the game is a sequel, theres mention of the Robo-Pirates, Uglette being Globox's wife, Mr. Dark creating Dark Rayman, Tarayzan and him giving Rayman the magic seed. There is no evidence that the game takes place after Rayman 3.

Also, I'm on pirate-community too!

Interesting.

It's odd I have affection for Rayman 1 considering how much hair it lost me.

There are just too many great games coming out this year. I don't have the money for them all! My word, it's been years since I played the first two games, but I am stoked for Origins.

Besides the whole HD vs. SD thing, are there any real differences between the PS360 and Wii versions?

@X 2 X: I don't think that there are any differences between the Wii version and the PS 360 version, other than the HS vs. SD thing and the general control scheme.

Also, the game should now be out in America!

Got the game. It's awesome. Tons of replay value thanks to lum collecting and time trials.
