"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "Just replaced it, sorry.
It's good to have reserves <_<
Ah, I should have figured. It has been a couple of days after all.
"Only now, after being besieged by a flock of talking ponies, did he really understand what he'd lost. "i'm just looking for a group to try out the game with. Never played before and as of May 6th, I read the entirety of the 4e handbook. I feel I got the basic information down.
I have a lot of time to kill these days. I have experience with D&D 4e, and perfectly willing and capable to learn new systems.
If anyone has a spot free on any campaign whatsoever, I'm game.
'fraid I just filled my most recent slot.
Dammit, and I just happen to be a complete weeaboo as well. I would have fit in perfectly once I got past struggling with maptools or whatever you guys use.
mIRC and Maptools, yeah.
I'll give you a call if anyone else drops :P The game as moved to Tuesday evenings though.
Time is meaningless to me. I dropped out of university months ago, and still haven't managed to find a job of sorts. You guys could be playing in the middle of the fucking night* since I'm bored out of my skull.
What timezone are you in, anyway?
We play 8 EST to 12:00 EST, generally.
UST+1, so that would be early morning for me. Which is seriously A-OK.

Well, if someone drops, you'll be the first I let know-though I'll admit I've had BAD experiences with people claiming to be "A okay" for early morning games when they're across seas before.
Still, anything to promote the TV Tropes gaming community.
Sweet. Got any specific character roll that needs filling? I might create a character just in case for the heck of it.
Think of rolling a chaladin. Last one I rolled was great fun to play as. I assume all characters need to be human, since, you know, ancient Japan and the usual fantasy races don't mix well?
EDIT: Oh, oh, better idea: a straladin with Ardent Vow, flavoured as a No Dachi-wielding samurai.

Chaladin would probably be fine, though I confess to not liking the Paladin class very much myself. I don't think anyone is going to drop, but Alan-the Druid/Cleric that has some weird defendery elements-is the most likely to drop if someone does, so the party could use a controller.
TGD uses a rotating roster of PNP Cs, so often, the party has the ability to select someone to fill an empty role, so it's not utterly crucial that every role be filled.
I allow characters to reflavor races. For instance, the human ninja's mechanical race is Drow.

Hmm, I just started to like the idea of reflavouring a paladin to fit a samurai, especially since I got a copy of The Book Of Five Rings lying around that I could use for inspiration to better emulate the samurai-spirit, so to speak. I could create the same effect with a fighter, but it wouldn't be quite the same.
I could, for the sake of controlling, reflavour an Invoker as something of an Onmyoji.

Well, TGD is a hybrid of Japan and China in many way. Typically, divine classes are disciples of The Golden Dragon, so Invokers work just fine played straight.
Generally, I have Onmyouji be wizards.
Eh, we'll just see. Give me a call if you got a spot, and I'm game.
Will do.
Okay, so I asked a bit ago for a 4e group for D&D, but the DM we had fell through, so I think we need a new one.
It'd be 1 new person to tabletops in general, 1 with D&D experience, but no 4e experience and two people who are experienced in tabletops and 4e. In addition, should the DM allow, I have two people, both inexperienced at tabletops, one having only played a bit and another being totally new.
If interested, please send me a private message
EDIT: Also, it'd need Maptools ad skype.

I'd really like to join a Dn D 3.5 campaign (especially interested in FR and Eberron) or an oWoD campaign (mostly interested in Vt M). I'm looking for online campaigns, and I live in GMT +4 time zone. Not much of a min-maxer, but I usually can make a decent build most of the times. I can use Map Tools or Fantasy Grounds 2.
I'm not technically announcing the project's launch just yet, but there is a very high chance that I will be launching a new 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons project in the near future.
Um, I'm a first timer here, what game would be perfect for a first timer?
Just floating around...Depends on what you're looking for. If you want something along the lines of D&D - high-powered fantasy, moderately crunchy - I'd suggest the Legend System, for the following reasons:
- It's free.
- It was the first game I played that I had any actual understanding of.
- It has some of the most flexible character creation I've ever seen. I have yet to see a character that can't be modeled by Legend. This does require a little bit of fluff adjustment, but it's worth it when you can play as a NinjaPirateZombie Kamen Rider or something equally awesome.
- Everything is very clearly defined - no confusion over what exactly causes what to happen and why.
- It's incredibly well balanced.
- It's extremely easy to get in contact with the dev team.
- You can sneak attack someone with a velociraptor.
- It's a damn good system.
THAT SAID: It's also still in beta, which means that at least 70% of the content in the latest release is outdated. If you want to use the even better / newer rules, you have to get them from the dev team and read through many, many pages of google docs. Also, take my opinion on this with a grain of salt - I'm in contact with the devs enough to almost qualify as a Promoted Fanboy. Less so now since a certain something I was working on got shitcanned, but my name will still be going in the credits.

You can sneak attack someone with a velociraptor
Why do I get the feeling this will become a new unofficial slogan?
Anyway, wrong thread, kid. You're looking for the Starter RPGS thread.
Mura: -flips the bird to veterinary science with one hand and Euclidean geometry with the other-
For the record, I'm looking for a replacement player in my online 4E game.
