Is it just me or does it seem like Dandere is the black sheep in the Dere Dere family? It's sisters Tsundere, Yandere, and Kuudere all have various subpages filled to the brink with examples and are widely known.

There was a thread on this already [1] after a lot of confusion we settled on a YKTTW however the YKTTW seemed to have died as well as it wasn't defined properly.

Anyway the term is pretty much what we here call Shrinking Violet (the Dan part at least) and the Dere part is the opening up with the love interest.

There is so much overlap with Shrinking Violet and Kuudere that I think it should just stay a fanspeak term.

There's an existing thread about this here.

And I've been ninja'd.

The problem with the YKTTW is that there was something like one example that wasn't already covered either by Shrinking Violet or by Kuudere

Personally when this was first created I was opposed to it even as a fandom term, mainly because the term Dandere had not been defined as fully in the fandom as the others.

Even now there seems to be some argument over what it means.

Near as I can tell though it is most commonly used to refer to a Shrinking Violet. So that is where the examples should go.

^^ I know what Dandere means.

But the trope is just so obscure that you wouldn't know it existed if you didn't visit the other members of the Dere Dere family. I'm beginning to think that it would be better off if it become either a type 1 or a type 2 of a another trope thats closely tied with Dating Sims.
