Considering that the South Park example is the very first one under Western Animation I don't see why it should be a problem to use it as an image
The example entries and the page image are governed by different criteria.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I'm going to suggest the third panel: http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=1244
(193)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.
I like that, but I think it needs the preceding panel for context.
(350)
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Perfect.
So, is that new image clear to go up? 'Cause nobody seems to have bothered to put it on the page...
No, there's not nearly enough concensus...thanks for bumping the thread, though, because we do need to hash this out and I like that pic a lot.
I don't get the picture.
It might need a caption like "Border guards can be pricks", but I think it carries enough context to get past JAFAAC.
Incidentally, while I know the Happyology one is pretty strictly off-limits, wasn't there a similar disclaimer in "The Return of Chef" when the leader of the fictional cult Chef had joined explained said cult's origins? I forget, since it's been a while.
Moon◊^^^ "He actually said this" = "'Not Making This Up' Disclaimer"
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. So I take a look at the Not Making Thisup Disclaimer page, notice that it doesn't have an image yet, came to this thread because I thought I could suggest one, only to find that I already have posted that same suggestion about 10 months ago and completely forgot about doing so.
Either that means that I really should stay out of actual troper business if I keep thinking like a noob, or people around here should really start making a decision once in a while. There have been plenty of suggested images without any flamebait, so why haven't we picked one of those yet?
Seriously, honest question, what is exactly keeping us?
For the record, I still stand by the FFN one.
The most likely cause of No Further Action is that no one made a crowner for it. There are several possible pictures, but no clear cut "Yes, that one," within the rhread. Your best bet would be to make the crowner after a look back through to see the other candidates and then ping Wilbyr to get him to hook it to the thread.
Since I'm here, I'm going to throw this◊ into the ring (caption it with "We're Not Making This Up."
The disclaimer has to be in the picture, not the caption. Otherwise it's not an example.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think the Yu Gi Oh The Abridged Series one works best. It's zany and not overly text dependent.

Clock is set. Crowner?
Crowner
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBlank crowner's hooked.
Crowner filled with the least-contested thread suggestions
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynmanwait, so why is the "happyology" one gone? that seemed perfect.
I'm baaaaaaackFast Eddie prohibited it for being a stealth Scientology-bash image.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard Feynmanit was just a screen grab of a clip from a show ACTUALLY showing what they believe. I mean, thats like just showing a crucifix and saying it's bashing Christianity...
I'm baaaaaaack
