I'll kick-start their shit if it makes it less shitty. You've got to kick it up a notch, you know?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Hmm. I still haven't seen either of the new ones. Maybe I should do that today on my day off. Yes. That's what I shall do.
Ani is horrible. Don't.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I personally think Ani is great. If you watch it as a parody of 80s sports movies it's hilarious. Certainly more awkwardly hilarious than their usual stuff, but still funny.
I think that it's just the scale of their past parody musicals - AVPM and it's sequels, Holy Musical B@Man - people expected something bigger from Ani, but the fact that it's a smaller, more personal piece endeared it a lot to me.
"A king has no friends. Only subjects and enemies."So, a new trailer for the next Team Starkid production dropped couple of days ago. It's something called Movies, Musicals & Me, and instead of a stage show, it's their first web series since their You Tube debut Little White Lie back in 2009.
The first episode was released today, with weekly episodes coming out every Thursday.
And how is Darren Criss doing? I haven't heard from him since I stopped watching Glee.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.According to IMDB, he's been mostly firmly in Ryan Murphy's clutches, going from Glee to have a minor role in American Horror Story, and is supposed to star as the serial killer Andrew Cunanan in the upcoming season of American Crime Story; given their likeness I can only applaud the casting. Apart from that, he seems to have a rarely recurring role as a DC crossover villain called, appropriately enough, "Music Meister".
The same that Neil Patrick Harris originated?
I am so happy right now.
Ryan Murphy is a filthy piece of shit of a human being, but The Music Meister is a great villain for the cheesy Flashverse.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.I mean, there are few modern villains that can out-stupid The Riddler, but the Music Meister seems like a winner in that regard. Then again, he seems like a perfect chance for the showmakers to let loose and insert a silly musical montage into an otherwise straightforward show.
There's nothing stupid about The Music Meister and nothing silly about musical montages. Both are unambgiously and straightforwardly awesome. MM is about being a classic villain. Panache! Flamboyance! Affability! Humour! Spectacle! Gloating! Why, if I had my way, the Joker would do more musical numbers than just the one in The Killing Joke.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Reviving this dead thread to bring attention to The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals. Full performance from their youtube channel here:
Jesus, this entire sub-forum is kinda dead except for the Wrestling thread. Anyway, Black Friday's premiering now:
EDIT: Also, a third entry is already in the works — Nerdy Prudes Must DIE!, with Hot Chocolate Boy and Grace Chastity as the lead characters.

I just watched "The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals". It's a lot darker than any previous Starkid material, complete with a Cruel Twist Ending.
Recently watched Twisted and loved every second of it!
GIVE ME YOUR FACETwisted is easily one of their best.
Come back here to remind you guys about Nightmare Time Season Two. Music sounds good.

By the Power of Grayskull, I HAVE THE POWERFollowing the conclusion of Nightmare Time 2 (the digital tickets will remain available for the rest of the month, for anyone who wants to catch it before the "TBD 2022" youtube upload), StarKid have announced their next project. They're returning to stage with A VHS Christmas Carol: Live!
This thread is pretty much dead but I figured I should let you know that the entirety of Nightmare Time 2 is now on Team Starkid's youtube channel. ...Along with a new announcement:
When the biggest losers at Hatchetfield High are being hunted by an angry spirit who hates nerds, Grace Chasity and Stephanie Lauter must fight to save the school.
The stage musical will be performed live in Los Angeles in February of 2023, and will be Kickstarting this August as part of #StarKidReturns... More details coming soon.
I really liked the Potter musicals. There was a third one as script reading, right? I never quite got around to watching that.
So do they still produce work?

Optimism is a duty.As far as I can tell, all their productions since 2018 have been part of the Hatchetfield universe. They do still make musicals, though. Their last one was last year, and there’s a new one coming out next year.
“Now! Let us engage in the art of deduction!”The VHS Christmas Carol was not part of the Hatchetfield Saga, though it was also never uploaded to Youtube.

I just (well I finished like yesterday) watched all of the Hatchetfield sega including both seasons of Nightmare Time I'm surprised because I don't usually do well with horror, but not that many nightmares. I think the songs kind of help even if at least part of the time (and like the whole of the time in The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals) they are part of the horror.
I'm surprised there aren't more people on here. Since the videos are all up, so it doesn't have the issue of most live performance (which is why I assume this is a less used subforum besides wrestling), though I guess things tend to be released slowly.
Well., maybe part of it is that Harry Potter has rather fallen out of favour, though I still like the musicals. Are they doing other stuff?
Optimism is a duty.
I'm starting AVPM, amazing so far
Life is fun.
