Calvin shifted nervously in the Cobalt's cockpit as Lilith's bombardment rained down onto random structures in the area. He fingers fluttered on the controls as she recklessly smashed unoffending buildings without taking cover. He raised an eyebrow.
" Uhh, I'll stay put, there isn't much I can do against that sniper, not until we find where he is." He called to the others. " Someone spot us a target to shoot before we're all blown to hell." He didn't specify whether he meant by the Cents or by Lilith. Could've been either.

Lilith fired out at random over the city. Smoke rose from the two buildings, glancing over with her Sniper, Kara would see the Federation dragging their wounded from the minigolf under a light show of Centauri plasma, the warehouse was empty save for an abandoned Artillery unit, now with a bent turret. Probably Centauri made. A handy spoil, had it been captured but just as likely to have been reclaimed by Centauri in a last bitter defence. Kara's observations gave her a general feel for the sniper's location, he was around the warehouse area, further back than where Lilith could reliably hit, likely there were a few fortified ones that he'd be switching between for his own safety. Reliably, a few more shots run out. Lilith's erratic movements made her a difficult target but this time he wasn't moving. Shots rang out in quick succession, scratching at Lilith's armour.
"Lilith, don't be an idiot," Mary grunted, "Get down and keep cover, don't die for the sake of it."
"And you're supposed to be shooting at Cents, for Thor's sake," Yasan sighed, "The hell did the town ever do to you?"

" Hey Lilith," Calvin called snidely. " I think there might be a few more buildings you can knock down before you get us all killed. Maybe you could even try to hit some of the enemy you know?" He sighed, scowling.
You know, I bet the Centauri don't have to deal with this shit... He though sourly. Fucking blue bloods.

Kara paled as she saw the Federation wounded being dragged from the golf course Lilith fired upon. "Echo to Sunrise, you are firing on friendlies! Cease fire and get to cover until we can confirm targets!"
You know, friendly fire isn't tolerated, a voice said in her head. I'm sure it would be understood if you just turned a little and-
"This is Echo," Kara interrupted herself, "Now firing on suspected locations of target." Trying to get her mind off that morbid thought, she fired on where she guessed the shots had come from [1,2], as well as one of the fortified locations [3].
Actually, it's Euphinatrix.
"S-Sunrise pulling back and... r-right, understood," Lilith responded, trying not to notice the collateral damage she had just idiotically caused. So she guessed wrong, what was the big deal? If she had placed her shots a little closer to the enemy, she would be receiving praise, not condemnation...
Still, how many people had she hit? Were they all just wounded, or-
Blocking out her mind, she quickly moved to whatever cover she could find [1] and began scanning the area, [2,3] looking for something to do that didn't involve thinking or shooting.

"Stay focused Lilith." Kiera said gently. the last thing they needed was a member of the team distracted by the thoughts of collateral damage she'd caused. "We'll find the targets, then you let them have it!"
She spent the entire time sweeping, looking for targets, while remaining in cover.

The Artillery howled still in the background as the rest of the detachment sat quietly.
"Sniper's game now," Yasan sighed, "We might as well be playing cards."
The exchange continued. Kara fired three blind shots into the distance, toward the make shift fortifications the shots had come from. In return three shots were levelled at her, one of which made contact. A stratch but it was adding up.
"Captain Goebels, you can surely pretend to interested in the outcome of this battle. Ensign Cheslock, you've got a stealth unit installed, right?" Mary said, "Put it up. No point in seeing you forced back this early in the combat."
Yasan grunted, clearly considering the value of the feed.
Meanwhile Kiera spotted the sniper moving towards new cover to the east, by the time she could say for sure, he was in cover, preparing for his next shot. It was difficult to see and impossible to tell the condition it was in, though it looked to be fresh.
Lilith meanwhile say closer to the center, a dangerous position should the Cents advance but the combat seemed fairly slow and flanking for the sake of leveling a frame seemed unlikely. As she glanced, she spotted in the corner of her eye a frame moving westwards towards fortification.

Calvin licked his lips nervously, and released his vice grip on the controls, figuring he'd probably be in this position for a while.
" Oh joy." He muttered sarcastically. " The thrill of sitting behind cover and doing nothing. This is clearly why I joined the military. Even the low paycheck and friendly fire team mates couldn't dissuade me from this." He sighed and bit his lip, laying back in his seat and stretching as much as he could in the tight confines of the cockpit.
Settling with his hands behind his head, he twiddled his thumbs. " So, I'm open to suggestions. What do we do while our esteemed snipers risk their lives?" He scratched his chin. " Charades anyone?" he snorted, before continuing. " I'm thinking of someone tall, dark and beautiful with a large kill count and a reserved spot in my bunk."

"No, Calvin," Lilith broke in, her voice still slightly shaken, "You're not allowed to bed Shang. Pretty sure that's a- Oh, hello there! That's not one of ours!"
Lilith prepared to abandon cover and fly after the frame, but caught herself, remembering last time. "Spotted a frame to my four, moving fast. Requesting- Screw it, it's getting away!"

Turning on her cloak,[1] Kara moved to another position and took cover.[2,3]
Is it just me or am I carrying this entire squadron on my back? No wonder it's damaged.

Kiera squeezed off her first shot, it nicked the edge of the fortification. The sniper's barrel zoomed on her and she twitched, sending her second shot off. Taking a deep breath she aimed off the third a bit more carefully, but in a rush, she only nicked his side. Meanwhile the Sniper continued moving, before squeezing off two shots on Lilith, each a blow in its own right, salting the open wounds of the frame. Kiera took a deep breath as she entered cover.As she moved back to cover, with a minute's thought, Kiera couldn't shake the feeling that the frame was familiar.

Calvin let out another sigh. " Lilith, I give you the most obvious answers and you still can't get them... did they breast feed you with breast milk or lead?" He asked.
Or more likely, nitroglycerin. He thought to himself.
He raised an eyebrow, eyeing the squad monitor of his Frame's display. Several of his squadmates were taking worrying amounts of damage for so early on in the engagement. " You might want to snuggle down into cover a bit more like the rest of us." He said in a bored voice, running his hands through his mess of blond hair. " That single sniper seems to be kicking you around like a bunch of lost puppies."
He flicked at the comm again idly. " Yo Yasan!" He called. " What should we do, besides sit here twiddling our thumbs while the artillery does it's thing?" He dearly wished he had gotten some upgrades to his baby like Yasan had. He had a toaster for god's sake! A toaster!
Calvin rubbed his armrest. I'll get you nice and pretty too, don't worry baby. He thought fondly. Leopard print upholstery, sound system, microwave, the works.

"Damn it all!" Lilith screeched, her frame's condition further worsening.
To try to fall back, and risk getting sniped, or to stay here, and definitely get sniped?
"Yeah, no." Lilith muttered, adjusting her controls. Steeling herself, she fired several explosive rounds towards the ground in the direction of the shots [1,2] creating cover, and then tried to dart away back to the line for heavier cover [3].
"Don't know which is worse," she sighed, "the fact that my frame's this close to getting blown to smithereens, or the fact that I won't be around to see the explosion."

"Do you have any idea how much a charge costs?" Mary sighed, "You're hitting mostly abandoned buildings and Cents reservists. Ensign Mac Donald get back and stay back. Ensign Cheslock, look before firing and keep the stealth active, please."
"Kiera, Kara. For the sake of my sanity pull yourselves together. Keep an eye on the target then shoot. Firing blindly or hiding your asses behind cover, is going to get us all killed, understand?" Yasan sighed.

Calvin snorted at Yasan's instructions and muttered something about sending his teammates back to kindergarten.
" Can you ladies please take care of that sniper, or at least stop embarrassing yourselves?" He asked, exasperated. " If you can't deal with one or two Cents, how are you going to handle them when we don't outnumber them?" He sighed again, and rubbed his forehead, trying to alleviate the stress.
" As for the rest of you, anybody got any idea what to do?" He asked, hoping for a response from Yasan or maybe Dennis. Well, maybe Dennis was too much to hope for. Mary? No, he discounted that possibility too.
He let out yet another exasperated sigh. " Well, smoke 'em if you got 'em I guess." He grumbled as he settled back into his seat, glaring at the display.

Kara's teeth slammed down on her tongue before the words could even start to spill out, drawing blood. What was wrong with her? These were her teammates, she shouldn't even contemplate such thoughts.
After a few moments, she let herself speak. "...Cancel that," she uttered with a slight lisp.
Activating her camo,[1] he advanced into another cover point and started searching for the sniper. {2,3]

"No disrespect," she replied sincerely, "but we're snipers fighting another sniper. High-penetration rifles, light armor. One good shot can end the fight, and I don't want it to be me that goes down in a heap of slag. It might sound awesome now, but it'd be like the Kara incident all over again. Great for five minutes, then you'd start missing me."
But she obediantly slid out[1], checked[2], aimed[3], and fired(if she could find it)[4]

Kiera had only a brief moment to glance around before pulling the shot up on one of the emplacements. Kara similarly had trouble finding the sniper.
"I've held a Sniper in my life, Ensign," Yasan grunted, "I learnt during that time that when I knew where a goddamn moving target was, I shouldn't lodge my head up my own colon until I lost sight of him while explaining the fundamentals of gunnery to my Commanding Officer as my Flight got torn to shreds."
"Hope we don't get blown to shreds?" Dennis grunted, as he watched a seriously battered Lilith fall back into place.
"Just keep back Ensign, we'll worry about what to do once the Snipers actually look like they are on the winning side of things," Mary replied, "Have a little sympathy for them."

"Understood," Lilith responded, praising the glory of the "or" in the English language.
Deciding that it would be in her best interest to carry out her superior's direct orders, she began firing upon random targets that might be hiding Cent snipers.
Even that warehouse over there [1].
Especially that golf club store over there [2].
"Don't worry," Lilith radioed to Kara, "I'm not gonna let those sonsabitches get you again. Not with all this crap in the air. Sorry about that, by the way."
