Bump.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I wonder if a split is really the best option here. Do you think you could explain what you think the potential second trope should be about? Sorry, I am not sure I totally understand what you mean. Is it just that girls wear pink?

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 d"many things for girls these days tends to be pink"
Obviously does not mean just clothing, or I would have written that.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Alright, thank you for the clarification there. I understand that what you say seems to be true, but I wonder whether that is a trope (i.e. I am not sure what it says about storytelling or fiction). I guess I am not really an expert on that kind of thing though, so I suppose someone else who does know about that would be able to give you a better answer. I apologize for that.
"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dIt's about how when something is made for girls, it's increasingly more likely to have large amounts of pink, whether it's clothes, toys, or product packaging.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid. And when you want show a character is girly in media, you surround them with pink. Look at Legally Blonde for an example.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSo if we split, I suggest Girly Is Pink.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I oppose a split.
This trope is about the comparison between boys and girls. Boys being symbolized by blue, and girls by pink.
Now if you want to create a new related trope about girly things coming in the color pink I think that would be fine. As pink = girl is far more prevalent then the blue = boy element.
But this trope should be left unchanged.
Wait. Are you arguing that this is a separate trope? If so, you seem to be stating you oppose splitting, what isn't attached in the first place.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I think they were specifically talking about splitting of Pink Is Girly, rather than specifically splitting to Blue Boy and Pink Girl.
Fight smart, not fair.Yeah, if that was the confusion, I'm definitely not suggesting splitting among gender. Boys' colors tend to be more varied anyway, so this trope wouldn't exactly have a Spear Counterpart.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Yeah, it's more like splitting off a sister trope, but leaving this as is for the examples that use both genders.
Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickWell since it's still to indicate one gender, it's a Sub-Trope.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Okay.
If it's the creation of a subtrope or whatever, that's fine.
Because it was in the TRS instead of YKTTW, I assumed by "splitting" you meant splitting the current trope into Boy = Blue, and Pink = Girl.
Sorry for misunderstanding.
Thanks for clearing this up before. If I understand you correctly, you are just looking for permission to make a Sub-Trope about pink things for girls, right? If so, then I think you can go ahead and make a YKTTW about that. I do not believe you need approval from a crowner if you are going to keep Pink Girl, Blue Boy the same.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dI still wanted to make sure it was okay. But for a ykttw, the beta is still... a beta, and I'll wait to make it there.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Do not get me wrong, I think it is perfectly fine that you wanted to take the "better be safe than sorry" approach here. I just wanted to say that I think you can take this to YKTTW now.

"irhgT nm0w tehre might b ea lotof th1nmgs i dont udarstannd, ubt oim ujst goinjg to keepfollowing this pazth i belieove iN !!!!!1 dNeed to get this resolved first, to avoid some major potential confusion.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.Well that was resolved, and now there is a ykttw.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.
The main point is that you can tell boys and girls apart by the colors they wear, but another common thing is that many things for girls these days tends to be pink. I think that could be a separate trope.
