@Thorn: Same. I'm not particularly happy with politics in general right now.
"I don't know how I do it. I'm like the Mr. Bean of sex." -DrunkscriblerianI found another article with a little bit of unintentional hilarity in it:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0411/Birthers_unmoved.html?showall
Phil Berg, who filed one of the original birther lawsuits, now believes that Obama was adopted by his Indonesian father and lost his U.S. citizenship:
"I think the issue is that he's not any more natural born. I don't care if he releases his birth certificate or whatever," said Berg. "Let's see his records coming back through immigration."
Orly Taitz, once called 'Queen of the birthers' and who was responsible for a number of lawsuits, is verifying the document's authenticity and now believes that the president is using a false social security number.
"In Obama's Selective Service [document], his social security is listed as a Connecticut Social Security number," said Taitz, who has tried to have forgeries introduced into court filings before.
POLITICO could not verify that the document that she is referring to is genuine.
So, the queen of the birthers is named ORLY◊?
That’s the epitome of privilege right there, not considering armed nazis a threat to your life. - SilaswSee, like clockwork. They denied it.
To bring things to a more serious level for a moment, I wonder if Obama also released the long form as a way to rally his base for 2012. I've been hearing from some African-American folks who are absolutely disgusted by this whole ordeal, as it simply proves to them that nothing Obama does will be sufficient to legitimize him to his detractors, and thus reinforces the racist undercurrent of the GOP. Think they'll get riled up enough to show up en masse in 2012?

Doubt it. Enthusiasm for Obama went down dramatically when they found out GASP. He wasn't the messiah who could fix everything in one term.
Still, it provides effective campaign fodder for Obama for that audience.
A brighter future for a darker age.The media is discussing wether or not the media will stop talking about the birther issue (massages forhead to relieve headache)
Why are people this stupid?
TALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSSounds like the mainstream media's equivalent of Good Angel, Bad Angel discussion, just public.
"Should we keep our journalistic integrity?" "Yes! its your responsibility as news to report REAL news!" "No! This is ratings GOLD! You can't give up now!"
Question: Who actually measures the ratings? And who rates everything anyways?
TALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSTALOSRatings are from ratings agencies like Nielsen that are supposed to give unbiased and factual viewership information by sampling a proportion of households and extrapolating.
Most cable & satellite providers, of course, can tell exactly what you are tuned to and what you record on their DV Rs.
A brighter future for a darker age.Something funny happened related to this at school today. In 8th grade US history we were talking about this, and it was mainly this one kid who believes every single conspiracy theory he hears that was taking the, "OBAMA FAKED IT!!! HE IS A TERRORIST!!" approach. But the funny part was when it was mentioned that he was born in Hawaii, this one girl, being completely serious, says, "Hawaii is in America?" It was kind of fun listening to the conspiracy kid too.
I weep for our future.
My faith in the human intellect had already been shot, torn, stomped, burned, and buried a lomg time ago. I still expect that to continue.
Don't Stop Me Now...The race card has been anything but useful to Obama and the Democrats recently. During the health care debate for example, the race card was pulled and overnight the support for Obamacare plummeted by several percentage points in the polls.
It didn't help them in the last election either. In fact there's some indication the race card sank several of its users then. (Among them, Obama's old Senate seat.)
Quod gratis asseritur, gratis negatur.
Love the "Is he a robot?" part. Man, we wish he was.
OK, reposting the joke. I hope it works this time.
If I'm asking for advice on a story idea, don't tell me it can't be done.Personally I think Obama is a Vulcan. He and Tuvok were seperated at birth and he was sent back in time.
Trump delenda estPingu, what the heck is that?
Fight smart, not fair. It's a malformed URL (it should be http://i.imgur.com/ou2G2.jpg), but otherwise the comedy should be obvious.

That's pretty good. I would totally vote a robot into office myself, but I suspect I'm in the minority.
Fight smart, not fair.Clearly a conspiracy to make me seem less American by the horrible Double Clickians.

Fight smart, not fair.
I know, I'm liberal as hell, and I like Obama, but I got a laundry list of complaints both sides of the isle that can be addressed
