[up]I'm afraid you may be late on that.

Apperently its not likely to be released till the afternoon, so I may not be able to play it until tonight, thanks to work.

Actually, that one's different from the one I've seen.

I don't remember this particular video being posted in the thread, and from what I can tell its only been on the internet for less than an hour.

Wow, this looks awesome, I really want to try it out. Kinda worried about the Steam thing though, I haven't done ANYTHING with Steam and I'm using my Mom's 'backup' laptop and I can't afford to break it!

How easy is it to uninstall the Steam client? Is it gonna be running every time I turn the comp on or just if I turn the client on?

When all else fails, hit it with a shovel!

Damn you other timezones etc.

Edit:

Well there seems to be contention on the Terarria forums but most are plumping for it to be released on steam at 8pm GMT.

My first impressions: Performance is quite good on craptop, and I've already died once. Off to farm more wood.

Wooh, installed and built a little hut.

I'm not gonna lie my spawn isn't great, near a desert and dodgy mini caves that go nowhere.
On the plus side the guide fell down one and looks stuck :D

I'd like to know: the game still hilariously Nintendo Hard with the frequent spawns? While they might have needed to be turned down a little, I looked forward to the hordes chasing me around.

Arggh my map, where are the resources above copper.
I've got nice clay pots everywhere, even a bed (spawn point setter) but like 2 iron bars.

I may need to try digging straight down as, I haven't found a single proper cave as of yet.

What does this have to do with Metroidvania? I do not see large area exploration to advance the plot.

@del diablo: Well, no, there isn't any plot. There are definite benefits to exploration, though, in better and more interesting items, and many of those benefits in turn make places easier (or possible) to explore.

Got myself a gold broadsword, copper breastplate, helmet, and a band of regeneration. I've also found a crystal heart.
