Basically, in the setting, it was puppetry that gave rise to the giant robot - hence the title.
Giant robots are controlled using simulated controls on the touchscreen - joysticks, steering wheels, etc.. I once took a crack at fan translating it, but I haven't gotten far - it actually stores a mini-font in each script file, containing only the characters that script uses.
