Character Development Thread--Discussion

Happy birthday!

Apologies for double-posting, but I'd rather not have to wait until someone else posts to ask this: could anyone who is both interested in and has the time to help me plan my Halloween-themed casual thread idea send me PMs? I'm going to move ahead with the idea since most people seem neutral or in favor and time is running out for its real-world relevance, but even though I probably have the time to work on it by myself, I feel like that's sort of defeating the purpose, so I'd like to ask anyone who has ideas for it to help with its development.

On a more immediate note: Killer Clowns, I just wanted to let you know that I'm waiting for you to post at the ABC Booth before doing anything with my character there.

I can't take part in the Halloween thread. Youmacon's the same weekend.

My wife's birthday is on Halloween. I'm organizing stuff for that. Yeah, I have no time.

Well, it's not going to be open for just one weekend. At the pace we've been going with Worlds' Fair, it'd be lucky to get even a page of posts in that timespan.

I'm not sure why anyone would assume that the Halloween-themed thread would last only for Halloween weekend. By "real-world relevance", I just meant that I'd prefer to launch it before November, because that would be kind of silly.

If Cedar Point's anything to go by, Halloween season started a week before Worlds' Fair started.

Sure, that will work. In fact, they've got a common thing to talk about if/when it comes up... oh, and fuck, I suppose I should post for them! Sorry, busy weekend nursing a server to health.

Yeah, I fucked up with Iris's very first interaction; she won't be going anywhere near Nioba, Lihiri, or any of the Adelphi, and none of the stalls on their own would interest her without attendee friends bringing her there. (She might attempt to see if someone is forcing Rufus to have that stall, or is doing other things to him... but that might not be productive if it turns out that he's not being abused or coerced and is in fact content with his situation.)

Does anyone else have any attendees who would like to take her? If not, I'll either pull out and wait to bring Henri to the Halloween thread or replace her with someone else. All of the other ideas I had for this thread were based around bringing a stall of my own, but the ratio of stalls to attendee characters is too high and if I attract too many people, I won't have time to keep up.

I don't know if an alien mercenary would work well with Iris, but my character Rey is about finished with Martian Dynamics and could run into her.

Also, I want to repeat my previous request for anyone willing and able to help me with thread planning to send me a PM.

I'm going to ask one more time if anyone's willing to help me work on the new thread. I'll give it a couple of days, and figure out what to do if there's no responses by then. I certainly don't want to push this thing through unilaterally.

I'd help if I had time. What do you need, a layout, aesthetic style, stuff about the proprietors, things for characters to do...

By the way, I'll make my next Worlds' Fair post either tomorrow or Tuesday; a couple of my classes were cancelled, teehee

I'm just looking for help in general. I don't want to do this whole thing on my own, which is why the first thing I want is to try and figure out who's interested in helping.

I should have some time Tuesday to at least act as a sounding board.

I'm here, I'm just waiting for Glacia to post because I think it might be easier to define my characters if I post as both of them at once (and she said she'd do it today anyway).

As for the new thread, I've been considering sending out PMs to some of the people I know have collaborated on thread-building in the past. My most detailed proposal was here, but it obviously needs a lot of development.

Sonzai, I think my subconscious took too much of a liking to that novel "sleep when tired" idea, 'cause I slept through most of yesterday. I should be able to write something after class today though.

I'm back from limbo, yay for midterms.

Mind if I sent Leo headlong to the food court group (and possibly ruin the ongoing cultural exchange)? (I'm talking about Nioba, Lihiri, Nore, and Solin's group)
