All. Too. Often.
Well, I was once talking with this guy and he mentioned a ghost called Candlejack and then his post
Happened with me and Theram.
Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up... But Is It That Great Now?... Also I'm Skylark2 now.Yes. Many times, sadly.
You got some dirt on you. Here's some more!Voiderofwarranties. They were reading through my story and were giving great feedback, and then they just disappeared.

Pinata just vanished one day.
It's especially bad if your collaborating on something. I never did get to hear his thoughts on Sellie blooded witches...

Life's Gonna Suck When You Grow Up... But Is It That Great Now?... Also I'm Skylark2 now.I miss Scrye.
Not that him leaving was without any word, but still. He's plenty busy in Afghanistan.
Das Auto - he just up and vanished.
Happiness is zero-gee with a sinus cold.It happens all the time. Sometimes people get bored or busy. Sometimes something happens in their lives.
Sometimes they come back. Sometimes they don't.
This is exacerbated by many people who are online a lot having problems that they are avoiding by being online.
A brighter future for a darker age.Shit happens so yeah. The one leave that has hit me the most was announced to me though. Then they came back. They've left these fora again.
This happens a lot in MM Os too. People just up and leave without word. I think it's a bit more pleasant than coming back after a couple of months to learn that your friends got in a huge fight and now hate each other and are hopping servers or quitting because of said fight though.

If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahI don't see why some people feel they should have this big fanfare over leaving, most of the time it just seems like an attempt to get attention and get people to tell them not to leave.
Shit, if I ever just suddenly decided to quit showing up, I'd just quit showing up.
I don't get the need for big fanfare. I just sort of disappear after a while leaving a note to those I really liked if I feel it is necessary.
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahAlso a good idea to get alternate contact info from anyone you like that much.
A brighter future for a darker age.Yes indeed!
If someone wants to accuse us of eating coconut shells, then that's their business. We know what we're doing. - Achaan ChahI'm actually guilty of this.
Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens. In a way, I'm happy IJBM got nuked. That was typically where people got banned, so when I got behind on reading it, it took me forever to find out who wasn't coming back.
@De Marquis: Wasn't Bio one of the banned ones? (Not that I can remember what he did . . .)
That's Feo . . . He's a disgusting, mysoginistic, paedophilic asshat who moonlights as a shitty writer—Something AwfulI actually prefer it when people give warning.
I recently realised that someone on another forum I go to has vanished. He was a mainstay of the general discussion forum and one of 3 posters guaranteed to discuss Doctor Who, so it took one of these threads to make his absence obvious. His history indicates that he's made about 6 posts in 2011, but all on other subforums he frequents less often. Pretty sure he won't be back though.
Am I a good man or a bad man?I've disappeared without saying anything. There stopped being common ground.
I had a fanfic I won't shut up about, a fanfic I've kept doing for seven years now. It was a quiet fic for a while, with not many readers.. then in 2007, all of a sudden, readership boomed. I suddenly had dozens of readers, lots of fans, and I actually started to get proud of my writing skills.
Then, a year and a half later, everyone.. stopped. They didn't even die down first. They all stopped going to the forum. At the same time. I kept writing, on the off-chance someone came back. It's been three years. They didn't. I've heard from one or two people since then, though we don't talk much. I mean, it's all perfectly understandable— life! School! Friends! Everything's better than being a fan of a fanfic series. xD But it just.. I dunno. I miss the days when I had a fanbase.

tout est sacré pour un sacreur (Avatar by Rappu!)So do I. Well, at least I didn't hate him as much as the others because I didn't take any post of his seriously.
At least MV gave warning.

And someone you've immensely enjoyed talking to just disappears without any word?
