Bumping this. We still haven't gotten that many votes on the crowner, though the ratio could be considered consensus. :/
Still, I say we wait a couple more days.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Seconding that bump.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I figure that given the number of bumps that this topic has already received without changes in the single proposition crowner, it probably will not change if we wait more. Plus, this topic slipped to the second page so I think that gives more of a reason to start voting for possible new names now.
So I think that an alternate names crowner is in order now and I made one here. I admit that it might need some work, so feel free to edit and add examples to it as you see fit.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Anyone else have any other suggestions? I came up with those that are currently in the crowner (mentioned in my first post in this topic as well) in like two seconds.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. It seems pretty unanimous (for the most part). Should we go ahead and do it?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Slowed Down Cover is probably not an accurate title, since the trope isn't just about slowing down the song—it's a broader change in the arrangement and style of the piece to give it a certain mood. There are probably examples of covers that are slowed down, but would not fit this trope.
Case in point: Da Vinci's Notebook's version of The Dreidel Song. Definitely slowed down. Definitely not this trope.

Rhymes with "Protracted."Then this really seems like a duplicate of The Cover Changes the Meaning, in that case.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.More like a Sub-Trope than a duplicate.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Well, as for alternate names, what about Cover Of Emotion?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.I added that one to the crowner. Lettuce C.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Anything we can do with this yet?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. Not sure there's consensus on any name yet. I also don't like Slowed Down Cover for the reasons that have already been stated by others.
"Well, it's a lifestyle"Well, if we could get more suggestions, that'd be nice. So few people seem to care about the lesser-known tropes on this wiki that discussions trying to fix them go stagnant way too easily.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. This really seems to be going nowhere, and that saddens me, as this trope desperately needs a new name.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Y'know what? This really can just be merged with The Cover Changes the Meaning, can't it? It really just seems like the same thing only slightly more specific.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. It's a subtrope that happens frequently. The Same But More Specific isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it just means something has a subtrope.
Subtropes are a great way to split off smaller more manageable groups from a huge larger trope. In this case, the supertrope is a huge unwieldy mess. This is a smaller subtrope in which things happen the exact same way. I'd honestly rather The Cover Changes the Meaning have more subtropes. It would help the page organization a lot.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickSofter and Slower Cover is pulling ahead at +5.
Rhymes with "Protracted."Then maybe we should get on starting a project like that. If there isn't already a thread about it, I'll make the TRS thread.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Do we do anything about this yet?
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. It looks like we have a consensus.
Then I suppose it is moving day for Miss Shepard.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle.Okay, I moved the page. I'll fix the wicks later when I have more time.
Insert witty and clever quip here. My page, as the database hates my handle. If you are leaving the wicks 'til later I'd suggest doing the index pages at a minimum so the new page doesn't come up as indexed.
No subpages to move, no discussion. I moved the wicks over and added a note to Renamed Tropes. Several sentences became more informative during the move.
