This page is actually about grossly inacurate depicts of sex and was originally titled You Fail Sex Ed Forever. It got renamed to this title during the renaming of the all of the "You fail" tropes, but the new title doesn't make sense. It sounds like it is about a work inaccuratley depicting how a sex ed class is taught. I guess we could rename it to Artistic License - Sex, but that sounds kinda weird. I'm not really a fan of the "artistic license" titles and I wonder if this page should even be part of that title pattern.

By the way, I noticed that the old title You Fail Sex Ed Forever is embedded and it appears as Artistic License - Sex Ed, and all the rest of these titles are done the same way. Is that so people get used to the new title set more quickly?

As was pointed out in the thread about the trope formerly known as You Fail Forever Forever, you play with snowclones, you get burned. Freezer burned.

How about Sex Act Description Fail? It serves the same purpose You Fail Sex Ed Forever did, addresses the same subject, and is easy to understand.

That seems more like a redirect to Ikea Erotica.

Sex Does Not Work That Way sounds pretty good.

^^^^ That actually was proposed for the Artistic License pages, but got shot down because it didn't really "solve" the problems with "You Fail...". We can't use it.

And again, we're not allowed to use X Does Not Work That Way. We have a thread (under an unclear name...again) going on the logic page.

[up]That thread was not where FE ruled against "X Does Not Work That Way". It was in this thread, which I had to search a bit to find. And if you're citing that thread to make this part of another mass rename project, I can only say: please, no.

Hollywood Sex?

EDIT: Never mind, turns out that one already exists.

[up][up] You mean this:

[quoteblock]I don't care for X Does Not Work That Way because it too long and clumsy to fit an a sentence. I see the point about the existing Hollywood X tropes not focusing on errors. Imma change my vote to Flubs. [/quoteblock]

His reason can be summed "I don't like it". I also vote for Sex Does Not Work That Way. Because, even if it is longer, we can always shorter it for redirects.

I support "Sex Does Not Work That Way."

I also find it amusing that this sounds similar to "X Does Not Work That Way." [lol]

It doesn't matter how valid Fast Eddie's rationale is. I don't even know if we're allowed to change this to anything other than "Artistic License - Sex".

That said, I can't think of anything better.

At the very least, it should be renamed to Artistic License - Sex. And Sex Does Not Work That Way wouldn't be terrible, but I'd prefer something more specific to sex rather than just plugging the word into a general-purpose meme...

Also, it still suffers from being too negative.

Can we get a mod to weigh in on whether Sex Does Not Work That Way would be an option?

I'd be wary of the perception of attempting to end-run the Artistic License change by individually renaming all the affected tropes. The reason we avoided "X Does Not Work That Way" is the same reason we nuked "You Fail X Forever" — it invites complaining.

Edited because I had second thoughts.

"Artistic License" really does not fit here. Sex Does Not Work That Way fits way better.

From what I can gather the problem with the old "You Fail X Forever" pages was that they consisted more of plain old simple Did Not Do The Research than inaccuracies that were actually egregiously wrong as the titles implied, so they were renamed to reflect this. However, the You Fail Sex Ed Forever page appears to actually mostly have examples of very inaccurate portrayals of sex, so a name like Sex Does Not Work That Way would work better here. I have a hard time believing that artistic license applies here; it seems to me that artistic license applies more to Hollywood Sex and this is about plain old inaccurancies.

Also, most of the "Artisitc License" pages are about sciences or other academic diciplines, and people are generally more willing to accept artistic leeway from academic fact in media. I don't think sex belongs in this group.
