So I'm working on a team of characters for Mutants And Masterminds, and they've got powers similar to those of supernatural creatures. They don't look or dress like their creaturesakes, though; they can pass off as human (though the fact that they all are dressed in Badass Longcoat attire might seem a bit strange to some).

I thought about each of them carrying an archaic weapon (though not supernatural weapons, like Stormbringer). I just can't think of what sort of weapons to give them. The monster types:

  • A human who's been possessed by a demon, but in control of her own mind (in other words, she has the demon's powers, but her own persona)
  • A vampire
  • A male Namedeko (and yes, he occasionally dresses like Danny John-Jules)
  • An artificial construct
  • A female lycanthrope
  • A merman
  • A Sasquatch

As I said, they don't look like their monster types; they just have similar powers (for instance, the Sasquatch has a wilderness-based Invisibility, and low-level Super-Strength).

Embroiled in slave rebellion, I escaped crucifixion simply by declaring 'I am Vito', everyone else apparently being called 'Spartacus'.

Depends on a number of factors:

  • Their personal style — A person who has no qualms about getting their hands dirty will have no problem with using a bludgeon or their fists. A person who wants to finish someone off quickly and cleanly will want to use a handgun or revolver. Someone who prefers to be stealthy and take advantage of their distraction will also be at home with a firearm, or a dagger.
  • What they've been exposed to — Someone who practices archery, for example, will choose to use a bow. Someone who practices karate will choose to use their feet and fists.
  • what they have available to them — unless they know someone in a military with a ceremonial sword, most people of average or lower wealth in the present day are unlikely to be able to use functional swords as weapons, and in fact swords were weapons for higher-class warriors in the early middle ages.

Banned entirely for telling FE that he was being rude and not contributing to the discussion. I shall watch down from the goon heavens.
