Edit: nevermind, I was looking at the wrong page. The EDD image is fine, the Decoy Protagonist one is iffy, but works.
Edit^2: Agreed, this is two tropes, though its possible that the part about an entire decoy cast could be rolled into Decoy Protagonist

This is trope repair, not image picking.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I know, I got distracted. I agree, two different concepts, one of which may simply rolled into Decoy Protagonist
But often the protagonist lives, just the supporting cast doesn't make it past the first part.
I'm on the internet. My arguments are invalid.I say that the decoy casts get put into Sacrificial Lamb since it sounds like a better match.

I would say make Decoy Cast its own trope as a sister trope to Decoy Protagonist. It's probably doable.
Decoy Cast seems spitable from Sacrificial Lamb, this, and Decoy Protagonist. Lambs are usually singular (if they're not, it's Kill Em All) and this is about a Decoy SUPPORTING cast, not a protagonist. So it's sort of the inverse trope of decoy protag.
This seems to be two tropes. One is killing off most of the protagonist cast, at any point in the story. The other is a Decoy Protagonist ensemble that all or most are killed off in the first act/episode.
The two can overlap, but are separate.
