I can't visit it either. Not that I really want to. I still have nightmares from when I visited their page on homosexuality.

I can see the apeal of an ironic laugh or maybe a little trolling*

, but I wouldn't see why you would head there more than once or twice.

Conservapedia makes me sad. I think a big part of the reason why is that it isn't even what it promises to be; "conservativism" actually includes a pretty broad range of viewpoints, and Conservapedia only offers an American, Protestant fundamentalist viewpoint.

What have we learned from the birth-certificate mess? Donald Trump can move public opinion, Barack Obama is weak and the media in the United States are a joke. [2]

I like the footnote, really adds to it.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Essay:Greatest_Conservative_Movies

Spider-Man (2002) - Praises moral virtue (hard-working teenager, devout aunt and well-meaning uncle) and pokes fun at liberals (entertainers and journalist). Hero chooses abstinence. This was one of the most profitable films ever made.

uh..what?

Titanic (1997) - Every life had value and the most powerful men gave up their seats on lifeboats to women and children first; the media and a young RINO are rightly criticized; broke the record in movie revenues

Did they actually watch the movie?

Contact (1997) - The overall message is about how science and faith do not have to be in opposition to one another.

This one is just...weird.

Is using "Julian Assange is a Hillary butt plug" an acceptable signature quote?

I had multiple tabs open.

I did not realize this thread was about Conservapedia.

For a brief second, I thought that was [up]YOUR opinion.

So is "action-at-a-distance." Which is not a single word. And who knew that "algorithm" was conservative? Also boomerang, brainstorm, catharsis, charisma, conniption, constant, coolant, and many more words without the slightest bit of political leaning.

The whole concept of Best New Conservative Words was so ridiculous that I assumed it was written by a troll, but then I checked the history and apparently Schlafly himself regularly edits the page.

Maybe it comes across better in the book than it did in the movie, but that's definitely one of the themes of the story. Or, at least the relationship between science and faith is one of the big themes.

Another glance at the front page news— Hmm... "give up, Liberals" this, "it's all Obama's fault" that... ooh, here's a gem (emphasis mine):

"Why do Americans still dislike atheists?" [link] Answers the lamestream media won't admit: atheists are less charitable, atheists censor Christianity (such as classroom prayer), and there is a high correlation between young mass murderers and atheism.

Most unusual. I seem to be prohibited from visiting the website at this moment in time, but I had no problems accessing it earlier in the week.

^^^^ Read the Uncyclopedia page on Conservapedia, then read the Conservapedia page on Uncyclopedia. Can't say either article is unbiased, but the Uncyclopedia page is at least funny.

@Locoman: I think that would violate our rule against "exporting drama". It does sound like an interesting game, though. It even has a spinoff for Rational Wiki, Rational Troll.

Out of curiosity, I checked its page on soccer [all links in this post are through a proxy]. There's a section on how soccer is socialist, which is so astonishingly retarded that I concluded it had to be a troll.

Then I checked the edit history. Andy himself has added to that section.

OK, it's clear to me now that Andy himself is a very dedicated troll. There's no way he could possibly have written that with a straight face.

Pfffff--

PERFECTION: Best New Conservative Words attain a perfect doubling by century of 25-50-100-200. Liberals, give it up, because language dictates culture, and culture dictates politics.

Also, in the news:

A massive Mississippi River flood surpasses the devastation of 1927, causing thousands to flee, but notice how the lamestream media downplay the term "flood". Has the biblical term "flood" become politically incorrect under secularized language?

Emphasis not mine. I couldn't make this up if I tried.

Odd. I can't access with my laptop, but I can access with my computer at training.

I wonder what that could mean, besides that their blocking method is crap. Hell, I'm surprised that they even figured out how to block IPs. Although considering how ban-happy Assfly And The Gang are...

I wouldn't actually be surprised if that was true, but they need a serious dose of correlation-is-not-causation. The factor here is that young mass murderers are disproportionately likely to be sociopaths, and it is, as far as I can tell, a universal sociopathic trait to disdain religion.

Article of the month
Similarities between Communism, Nazism and liberalism

Criminal complaint filed with the FBI, charging the birth certificate released by the White House on April 27 was created via an Adobe computer program for Obama's benefit. "I have irrefutably proven that the Certificate of Live Birth that President Obama presented to the world on April 27, 2011, is a fraudulently created document put together using the Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator programs, and the creation of this forgery of a public document constitutes a class B felony in Hawaii and multiple violations under U.S. Code section Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 47, Sec.1028, and therefore an impeachable offense."

Barack Obama flubs Memorial Day speech. It's his highest honor to serve as commander-in-chief of "...one of the finest fighting forces the world has ever known." A typical memorial speech however America IS [sic] the finest military in the world. There isn't a single country that even comes close.

As of a few minutes ago, I was extremely dispirited with how hateful and rage-filled some of the posts on these forums seemed. Thanks for reminding me that nobody here is anywhere near as frothing as some of the crazies on other sites.
