I thought about DH, but I didn't think about the dog popping up with the Game Over screen...that's a pretty good pic.

I prefer the Civilisation images over the dog.

Galactic Civilizations' Let's Play also had some very haughty aliens, going to dig around it later. [1]◊

This trope seems to be about the use of taunting to make the player genuinley mad at his opponent, giving the player a real motivation to wipe his foe's cocky grin off his face.

In Duck Hunt, the dog just laughs if you miss the ducks. It's *

not supposed to make you want to kill the dog, it's just to make fun of you for sucking.
