No one intrigued?
Jonah FalconHuh, it certainly looks interesting. What genre of game is it?
And here I thought I was the only one who heard of the series.
I've played a LITTLE of the original. I've been meaning to reinstall it for awhile, but the difficulty curve is pretty steep, especially given how hard it is to obtain money and gear. (in my experiences, at least)
Hmmmm.... It will be good to see what happens on mainland, during/after the events in the first game...
I played and finished the first Risen, and while I had my share of fun playing it, I think it had a huge pile of faults and flaws that, in the end, made the game to be merely just above-average.
I hope they do a better job in the sequel.
Has a compulsive editing and re-editing disorder. These guys did the first two Gothic games, so it's to be expected.
Jonah FalconWas the first Risen good? the plot? Sorry for using thread necromancy, but I didn't feel like creating a thread just to ask if it was recommended or not.
Instead, I have learned a horrible truth of existence...some stories have no meaning. The first Risen was definitely pretty good, if a little buggy initially. PC version was the best one, for the 360 version was a pretty crappy port. Risen 2 I hear is about as good as the original except it too had some bugs.
THREAD NECROMANCY HOOOOOOO !
Picked up the game recently. I was actually interesting in it for quite a long time, because frankly, RPG with pirates ? Sign me in immediately.
Okay, the start is a bit rough, but it's still manageable. Main concern was the lack of explanation on how the bloody thing work that got me killed a few times (not saying that you had to hold the right click button for parrying is a dick move, for example). And I like the main character so far : snarky, but not becoming unbearable in the process.
So far, I've started a few quests on the Sword Coast, and I established contact with both the Inquisitoion and the natives, but I fear this will be one of those situations where I'll have to choose between the two... Which I'll have trouble doing.
Risen 3 was announced at E3 :p
