He who fights bronies should see to itthat he himself does not become a brony. And if you gaze for long into an abyss, Pinkie Pie gazes AlsoInvalid equality. Less bashing does not mean more praise.
And 'edgy' is nowhere as cool as 'fun.'

Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyI was joking. Settle down.
Generally if one simply takes out negativity, you generally have the praise and neutral tropes left over, creating a more positive tone, other than instances where the work in question has no fans (and thus will usually be locked).
For those (admittedly rather few) of us who like the wiki's more honest, personal tone, it loses some of its charm when it refuses to just spit out the facts surrounding a work for the sake a few people's sensitivity. Facts like "The audience does not like this character" are just as valid as "The audience has a raging mancrush on this character."
I'm really not trying to turn this into a debate, so you guys can put yourselves at ease. It's not like the wiki's gonna turn into crap because a few subjectives are disliked amongst the staff. Just trying to elaborate on my stance.

On top of Headscrachers can we get a banner saying exactly what the page is for?
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!What was JBM for anyway? I thought it was basically a place to discuss fridge logic or something.
If that's the case, then why do we have separate areas for fridge logic and headscratchers/whatever? I guess you can tell I've never really hung out in IJBM (other than the late forums, of course).
Briefly, JBM predated the Fridge namespace.
Fight smart, not fair.@Lost Hero Facts like "The audience does not like this character" are just as valid as "The audience has a raging mancrush on this character."
Both of those are Audience Reactions, thus opinions and not facts.
From I get from reading this thread is that we are trying to get Head Scratchers to be about comments such as
"In scene X, Bob suddenly hit Dave with a laser, even though Bob was never shown to have had a laser. Where did Bob get the laser from?" and not Writer Bashing.

Somehow, headscratches feels ... "inorganic" to me. I'd really rather it just be called "The Fridge" and be about fridge logic entirely.
Myself as well, but other opinions prevailed.
Fight smart, not fair.So no redirecting It Just Bugs Me to Headstratchers then, or is it being changed automatically?
The recent changes page still has the option to filter to JBM entries, with nothing for Headscratchers. Are we waiting to ensure that the name is finalized before creating that option?
Come to think of it, Fetish Fuel probably shouldn't be on that pulldown anymore, either.
So are old IJB Ms that are just Complaining About Shows You Dont Like going to be deleted, or grandfathered? Also, is Headscratchers going to eventually going to get it's own logo like WMG and IJBM do?
It already has its own icon (a question mark), and the entries that are just complaining didn't belong there back when it was IJBM—they should be deleted on sight.
I'm bad, and that's good. I will never be good, and that's not bad. There's no one I'd rather be than me.I'm not a huge fan of the new logo then. It's kind of generic and lacks the uniqueness of the IJBM or WMG logos.
I agree with that. Nothing against the new name, but the icon sucks. It is also similar to the Trivia icon.
If you think about this, you see it's turned into an in-joke.
...And even I make no pretense Of having more than common sense - R.W.WoodI'm actually wondering if a name change would work in curbing the amount of non-constructive whining in the namespace. As it stands I'm fine with changing the name (love the name Headscratchers btw), but can we change it back if the name change doesn't work?
Links to 16x16 images to use for an icon are welcome.
Goal: Clear, Concise and WittyShould we also change the icon in the forums to the new question mark?
It's a smiley-equivalent for annoyance, irritation, or other similar negative sentiment. I think it won't hurt to keep it. (Though to be honest, I don't see it being used a whole lot anyway.)
This "faculty lot" you speak of sounds like a place of great power...Changing the name was all well and nice, but was it really necessary to wipe out all the entries as well?
Umm... what?
All the articles are still there.
Goal: Clear, Concise and Witty@Fillerdude
The new name can get changed if it dosen't work, but I doubt we'd go back to Just Bugs Me just because it was so dreadfully vauge.
If the complaining presists, that maybe a sign we have to put the old girl to rest. However, it's far to early to call now.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova Scotian
Crown Description:
Perhaps, but you must admit, we've got something of a crusade against any sort of negativity, what with the lockings of Seltzer and Friedberg, Uwe Boll, and the mass deletion of others such as Small Name Big Ego. This generally leaves us with a bunch of neutral and positive tropes, which is a bit jarring in most cases. One wonders if we'll end up singing the praises of the understated masterpiece that is My Immortal.
