My initial reaction to this was lukewarm, but I'm warming up to it slowly. Though there are certain aspects to the game that aren't going to translate well into the anime, but at the same time the overall game can and would translate fairly easily into an anime.
I really hope they don't give the protagonist a beta couple relationship, or any relationship for that matter. That would really betray both the game's form of choice and the fanbase as a whole.
I wonder how they're going to fit Izanami into the story. That part of the game was really just based on the gamer's choice so fitting it into the anime would feel awkward at best.

Kanaya, it's hard. Being a kid growing up. It's hard and no one understands. That was the manga name; the anime is calling him Yu Narukami.
In what way was it based on the player's choice? (Referring to the third paragraph)

On the last day, you basically have two options: be an idiot and forget about the Aesop the game's been drilling into your head for the past 80+ hours (Normal End), or take notice of the unsolved mysteries and Fridge Logic in the story and act on it (True End).
I don't think it'll be that hard to make it work; I mean, the biggest clue that things aren't quite finished yet is the letter Nanako gives to you in the morning.

Ah right, that.
I see little reason why they wouldn't follow the true ending. Odds are they'll make Yu as smart as they expected the player should be.
Regarding Izanami, they might just make the gas station attendant a recurring background character; considering that she's the figure that's continually taunting the protagonist when he has that weird dream about being lost in the fog during his first night in Inaba, as well as the person who gives him his power, she's going to have to be included in the anime somehow.

Well on the Relationships I am pretty sure they will take the standard visual novel route and dabble in all of them but make one pretty much canon to the Anime.
Anyway we will have enough Shipping Fuel for everyone most blatantly with Rise and the MC she is goddamn flirty with the MC all the time.
And on You know who she is though out the game as well they can make her in the background of every visit to the shopping district Chekhov's Gun and all.
Now I want to see a scene of them sneaking weapons into Junes! MC hiding that huge Katana in his shirt or something.

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!The gas station attendant will be as normal: Only there during the rain, but always there during the rain.
Though I like Yumi's S-link a bit more, it would be hilarious if the Brotag joined music club and played trombone instead of trumpet, just so he has a case he could stash a sword in;
A Junes Employee has asked you why you're lugging your trombone case around.
Make up an explanation.
Knock him out and drag him to a corner.
>> Play some funky trombone.
You lack the Courage and Expression to "Get Down With It".
>> Make up an explanation.
With your Persuasive Expression, you convince the Junes Employee that you are carrying your trombone around just in case the music "takes you away"!

lol, Kanji should keep his special steel chair weapon just for the lutz of walking in there with one... Everyone else never should have a problem, though Yousuke could get by with equipping the Kitchen Knives or the Wrenches after that one incident at the start of the game.
Although the MC could stick with the golf club all the way though the game .

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Here's a thought. Will the anime change it to just hiding their equipment under their clothes or will they still be changing into their school uniforms for no reason?
Hey, those uniforms were surprisingly snazzy. But judging from the official art and trailers, I think they'll be dressed in the same way as they were in the game.
Also, how are they gonna pull off (or not) the optional romance aspect? I'd personally imagine that they would just give the protagonist a degree of sexual tension with all the romanceable characters (plus Yosuke for the fangirls), but he still would remain single during his stay in Inaba.
Maybe he'll get caught while on a date.
It would be funny if it happened while with party members. it was always one party member, and one girl from outside the group.
One Strip! One Strip!Tenchi solution. It's the only way.
I personally liked Yukiko's S.Link, but that would get in the way of the ever-marketable schoolgirl lesbian dynamic.
TVTropes Nuzlocke Thread. - Arceus Help Us All.I'm only partway through watching a Let's Play of this (still got most of the Social Links to go through), but I hope the OST—if they're planning on composing new music for this—is as awesome as the game's is. Although it wouldn't be bad if they used the original music, either.
Tumblr here.Ideally, if this doesn't suck ass, I think the show's structure should be in mini-arcs, a couple of episodes each devoted to a dungeon and then several episodes of a down-time in between for Social Links and other character development.
Is it Giantbomb's endurance run? And knowing the composer they will have some new music but probably not all new music. P 3 P had some awesome new tracks compared to P3.
Whatever happens Chie has to galactic punt a tank!

Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!^ No, it's just a straight playthrough by this guy, who I don't think is particularly well known or anything. Is that Giantbomb endurance run worth watching, though?
Tumblr here. It's decent, it's a blind let's play and they have fun with it. One of the better let's play I have seen.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!This LP by a Finnish dude who types in perfect idiomatic English, and this one by Feinne of Something Awful are pretty good in-character narrative screenshot Let's Plays of P4, though I personally like the former better just because its version of Seta is an entertainingly verbose narrator (though it takes a while before it evolves from being simply an MST).
On that note, I'd be a little tickled if Yu ends up going all meta on us, being that he is the player avatar.
Hold on. Is this as good as the Let's play by that guy who did My Life Is A Goddamn Mess?
Because it was a shame he never stuck with that.
And now, I shall watch this let's play.
One Strip! One Strip!Well, Feinne's is pretty solid, but the Finnish one is actually kind of an unofficial sequel to My Life is a Goddamn Mess, complete with sarcastic, lampshading narrator.
New clip showing Shadow Yukiko's castle.
A P4 anime? YES PLZ. *.* If it's done right, of course.
