How about one of these two crops from Order of The Stick?

[up] Not crazy about either of those, but I prefer the first.

I like the first one quite a bit. The second, I think, actually undercuts the theme slightly.

First one is nice. Just make sure the caption explains why the dinosaur means they're safe.

First one is great.

It doesn't really represent the trope that well. It's more about Nominal Importance than about the fact that people simply care less (or at least not linearly more) about larger groups of people, compared to smaller ones, even if the smaller group also consists of Mooks.

Bump...the first pic has a decent consensus, but not enough. Thoughts?

I'm withdrawing my support for either of them. On thinking about it, the first one is closer to Nominal Importance, and the second isn't much better.

I'm not sure whether this trope can be succinctly illustrated or not.

I'd hoped that I could find a decent example in the list but there's nothing that would translate well...the closest would be the Bob And George strip and I think you'd need the whole strip to make all the context work.

I don't really like the Oots pics for this trope. I'm waiting on some better options.

First one is good; second one is okay, but looks a little pixelated or something.
