Questions & answers regarding topics concerned with human voice(s) and vocal range(s).

Now, first order of business: What is a husky voice supposed to sound like? No, I'm not kidding; I haven't gotten the slightest idea on how to differentiate whether a person has a husky voice or not, and the issue has been bugging me ever since I came across Audio Erotica, where it was essentially noted that "husky voices are among the ones popularly considered as sexy".

I've been told that Megumi Toyoguchi (who plays Revy from Black Lagoon) is husky, but after listening to Revy and searching through Youtube for "husky voice comparison", I don't quite understand how her voice or that of any of the "singer vs. singer comparison" videos in the Youtube search results sounds different from "normal" people.

So, can someone shed a light on this "mystery" for me, please?

3. Smoke a pack of cigarettes for good measure

4. ????

5. Profit

Dehydrate yourself and then try singing a loud song.

It's bad for you in the long run, but in the short run you can just fix it with a glass of water.

[up][up]: Decent earplugs? No need to smoke, it is only for good measure <3

Marq, listen to Lauren Bacall: here she has a husky voice for a woman — it's a timbre, a throatyness.
