The Gamecube version is a good port of the game. I think it runs at a full 60 fps, but it's still just a port. It has Extreme Battle mode and some other stuff.
I think the PC port and the N64 port have more content though. You should be content with the PC port, but my personal favorite is the N64 port. Play it with an Expansion pack for improved visuals and full 60 FPS.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Thread Resurrection Magic!
So I've been happily playing my PC copy of Resident Evil 2, but its just made me want to get a console version more. I'm gonna aim for the PS 1 Dual Shock version and the N64 version, maybe the Cube one if I can find it complete and cheap.
I have another question: Are some cutscenes/run-ins with Birkin and Trenchcoat Tyrant (whatever he's called) dependent on the order you explore rooms or accomplish tasks? I ask because I keep feeling like things that should've happened don't, and characters keep talking about things as if they're familiar with them (usually with regards to William Birkin and Tyrant, who I NEVER meet until they're first brought up but the dialogue makes it sound like I should've seen them already).
Is there a walkthru for how to play if you want to see all the cutscenes and have every possible encounter with the bosses?
visit my blog!Trenchcoat Tyrant is Mr. X.
I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter what order you explore rooms.
#IceBearForPresidentAre you sure about that? I know in RE one the order would determine what cutscenes trigger (Barry telling you about the Grenade Launcher etc.) It would be logical for the same to happen in RE 2.
visit my blog!I don't remember it like that. But then again it was 10 years ago and I only had the Claire disc...
#IceBearForPresidentThat's terrible. So you only got to play like one-quarter of the game, then, and not even get the full story.
Get thee to Ebay, NOW! (or Amazon)
visit my blog!Man, I don't even care anymore. The fact that I'm boycotting Capcom doesn't help.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.On the one hand cool. RE 2 is still my favourite one in the series.
On the other hand they might/probably try and make it more action-orientated.
"If you are going through hell, keep going." - Winston ChurchillI'm going to be a Debby Downer and remind everyone what happened last time Capcom offered a game through "fan support".
Might as well fire this game up again. Damn, I love this game.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.There is a Win XP version, you know
Jonah FalconI have the PSX Original and Dual Shock ver., and the N64 game. Not sure where my Gamecube version is :x
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.That reminds me of how I've never played RE 3. Should I get the Game Cube version of it?
I liked it better when Questionable Casting was called WTH Casting AgencyIf you can, get it. I dont' think anything would have been lost in translation from the PSX original.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.So, has anybody seen the RE 2 remake demo? What do you think?
Having never played 2 before, it certainly looks like it's going to be a great horror game, even with a control scheme that looks like it borrows heavily from 4. The lighting, the gore on the zombies, and how frantic combat feels like when zombies are in your face all look great.
Geez, those time gaps.
I really wouldn't recommend playing the RE 2 or any of the PS 1 RE games.
Counterpoint: I played the PS 1 version of Resident Evil 1 for the first time a couple years ago and had a blast!
Classic RE is great!!!
its not for everyone but once you get a feel for it its definitely a great series of game.
youtube.com/Fire Trainer 92Welcome to the official Remake 2 thread I guess. lol
Mileena MadnessLooking at the remake the original RE 2 is held in such high regard. The novels were a pretty faithful adaptation and we get elements of the plot in Apocalypse but it loses the feel a little. It loses it more in Outbreak Darkside Chronicles and especially Raccoon City.
My takeaway is that this is a remake. Leon is the dirty blonde rather than the redhead. Claire as awesome as her biker gear is dresses more sensibly. I'm certainly hoping ut will be everything the original game was, I certainly expect it to be and will definitely play it.

Mileena MadnessHaven't seen anyone post this even though it's been up for a few days, but we have gameplay!
So far:
- Gameplay looks to indeed be the over-the-shoulder style from RE4.
- The save data typewriter's back!
- 'Member when they considered having zombies in RE7? Well, this might be what happens when there are zombies! It gets terrifying!
- The motion capture has changed a lot since RE7...
Hey guys, I was wondering:
I already own Resident Evil 2 Platinum for the PC, but I'm thinking of buying a console version.
Should I, or should I just stick to the one I've got?
Thanks in advance.
