While spring for me often means hypercharged allergies and more bugs, there's one thing that I will say that I like: the trees blooming flowers. Very often, it's an incredible sight to behold, and it just adds to the overall Scenery Porn that spring brings.

So, I can't be the only one who likes this. Anyone else?

You never realise just how many jacaranda trees are around Brisbane until they start blooming - and then suddenly, 1 in 3 of them turn mauve. Preeeeetty.

Be not afraid...

Plum blossoms are my personal favorite. White against dark purple and black is a fine contrast.

Dogwoods are just starting to bloom here in NC. Wild cherry trees and redbud bushes have been in bloom for maybe a week now.

More on-topic, here in AZ, most of our spectacular blooms are cacti. Some of those are budding right now, though they haven't opened yet. Others are later bloomers, no pun intended.

It'll be a sight when they do, though.

I'm near DC, so you see a lot of Cherry Blossoms around here about this time. Also, there's a tree just outside my house whose species I'm unsure of, but it's pretty nonetheless; I should take pictures when it's light out.

The trees here are only starting to bud. The trees in Central Park seem to be starting to bloom, though.
