I just went through an d cleaned out a lot of it, mostly entries that really are Hype Backlash ("I tried it and it wasn't as good as I was told it was."), Fan Dumb ("I hate the fans.") or simply, "I tried it. I didn't like it."

Why does this page have examples and not just Troper Tales?

It had examples, but it was mostly just people talking about personal examples anyway.

So I was reading the Troper Tales page for Hype Aversion, partly for entertainment, and partly to see what I should tone myself down about (note to self; don't hype No More Heroes so much). While the page is overall fairly solid, I noticed a few items that danced the edge of the Rule Of Cautious Editing Judgment.
And then I read the comment hidden under the "tl;dr" footnote. And I'm fairly certain I found the 1% not covered under the Rule.
Right now, looks like that page is dancing the line; moderation should probably happen before it goes over the edge and has to be locked like the Troper Tales page for Hype Backlash (it wouldn't surprise me if folks eventually get the idea to use HA's page because HB is locked). It could stand to have some of the snark in there cleaned up (I count myself here; I'm going to tone down a comment about XKCD made in there after this).
It might also help to have a note in there that this is an emotional reaction, and that disliking the Hype Aversion reaction (or someone who feels it) is no different than disliking a work itself (or someone who doesn't like it). As much as I giggle over the Hypocritical Humor of people who react with Hype Aversion towards Hype Aversion, it doesn't make for a good article.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.
