Let's see, 1st episode.
Pro:
-Storm looks nicer in anime form than the cartoon incarnations...but I like Cat Woman's Storm in the movie better
-it's better than Wolverine
- Mr. Devilfish
Con: -They better develop Jean's character a bit more beyond "she dies without a fight"
-this suffers the exact same problem as Iron Man and Wolvering, the opening and ending themes suck...or more accurately, is nonexistant.
-this looks more like a Season 2 or a sequel to an anime, and the arc of the previous anime climaxed at Jean becoming Phoenix.
-Hisako still looks like she was shoe-horned in just because this is an anime.
I'll...wait to see if Toad ever appears. If he does, I'll watch those episodes he appears in to see if he compares to his movie counterpart.
It's weird...Storm looks like she belongs in an RPG as a mage class character instead of something like this. She looks like she's the strongest of all the characters, even back in the cartoon.
This is the 3rd Marvel anime, theres only one more left. Have they announced what the 4th one is?
...Marvel Vs Capcom anime?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."... Wait, there's an X-Men anime? Holy crap how did I not know?
visit my blog!this looks more like a Season 2 or a sequel to an anime, and the arc of the previous anime climaxed at Jean becoming Phoenix.
I see Emma Frost in the OP and ED, so it looks like prior events will end up being important
Promotional materials suggest that she'll end up joining the team. Still shoehorned in, but X Men is known for it's ever-changing cast anyway
Storm has always been an AoE nuker. Aside from the anime increasing everyone's power levels, she's the same as ever
Blade, of all things
Unless Mina Tepes or Rachel jumps in and tears that guy to shreds at the very start of the anime and make the rest of the series primarily about them instead, they are just waiting for a failure even worse than that of Wolverine!!
Do the Blade movies even do well in Japan? Iron Man and X-Men I can see where they were coming from the movies were popular and they probably do well regardless of where they are.
But Blade...sucked...*
^ Even in the movies, she was a bit of a Game-Breaker though. Look at how she took out Toad, the character who wiped the floor with an entire team of X-Men with little difficulty moments before...and no X-Men movie sequels have been able to top that scene since...

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Snake? SNAAAAAAAKE?!
(but yeah, Blade is kinda WTF for me too)
visit my blog!I honestly thought it was going to be Spider Man...or Fatnastic Four...even if the movies blew.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Admittedly, I've never actually seen the Blade movies, but, from what I hear, your opinion is a bit fringe. I'll admit I'd of gone with Spider Man if I was choosing the series involved, but it's still probably a better choice than most of the other options

Japanese do like vampires and the people who hunt them, so Blade makes some sense.
I noted elsewhere, I'd like to see an anime of Spiderman where he had the wisecracking personality of the comics but had a mech like Japanese Spiderman.
HodorJapanese likes cute Gothic Lolita vampire in cute clothes...not hideous monstroisity vampire getting killed by an ugly guy with two swords...and vampire poodles.
edit: wait...I might be thinking of the wrong movie...did Blade have a vampire poodle in one of it's movie?...and Dracula saying lines like "you're mine muthafucka"?

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."So, you've never heard of Hellsing I see.
HodorCompletely forgot about Nazis.
Though to be fair I watched it for the Hellsing.
"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."ehhh...I'm kinda partial about D.
Blood Lust was kinda entertaining if I skip to the fight scene* , but the other one? No so much.
And before anyone mentions it, Digimon...had a likable vampire antagonist that isn't a cute loli in Gothic Lolita fasion...they could just make an anime about THAT one guy and it would do well...
But anyways, I didn't even know Blade was Marvel property...I do remember some guy with funny lips appearing in Spider Man...but I thought it was just some random crossover, like how The Punisher meets Archie...
Guess there won't be any Marvel Vs Capcom anime anytime soon.
PS- we don't have a trope page for Gothic Lolita fasion? I'm surprised.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Hmm,Hisako actually isn't anime original character? Could have fooled me.
You might not like Vampire Hunter D, but it is reasonably popular. Also; you're looking for Elegant Gothic Lolita
ah...theres even an "elegant" in front of it's name...plain Gothic Lolita really oughta pothole to that page anyways.
And I did too like D...just only one of them.

"Every opinion that isn't mine is subjected to Your Mileage May Vary."Thread Hop, not watching this but I just wanted to say:
"ORE WA JUGGANAUTO, BIITCHI!"
Imoutos are the best! Follow at your own risk. Tumblr.Interesting first episode.
The uniforms remind me of those old ugly thing they used to wear- but at least it's a classic design I guess. I also was a little put off by Storm. Some of her body language just didn't fit with my perception of her character.
The episode introduced us to the characters and got us interested in them. That's good. Of course, It did feel more like the start of a new season, but considering X-Men is a Long Runner- well what can you do.
At least this way everyone new to the series knows that there are these X-Men. They are a Nakama. That Scott was hooked up with Jean, that Jean is dead and it really damaged the team dynamics.
It also looks like they are going for a simple yet classic X-man storyline. Young newbie mutant is kidnapped. X-Men go to the rescue. In the process they discover the secret plot of the bad guy, which they then defeat. Usually with the help of the newbie mutant, giving that character some time to develop and grow.
That's a solid plot line. Nothing new, but hard to screw up. For me, this has moved up from "give it a look when I got some extra time" to "keep an eye on this and see if it stays good".
Marvel Vs Capcom would have been hard to adapt to anime. As a crossover, it brings far too many legal rights issues when passed to other media. Same reason why we don't have a Kingdom Hearts anime yet.
I thought they also were going to make a Hulk anime. Whatever happened to that one?
Watching it now Mr.Devilfish rules.
Who or what is Mr. Devilfish?
HodorIt's a squid Beast uplifted to teach his class while he's off punching people.
OH MY GODS ! Beast created Ika-Musume !
Interesting. must resist making a comment about Naughty Tentacles. Glad that presumably means Beast is presented as a genius though.
HodorI actually rather like the OP; we get the basic rundown of the team (which I always like) and a suitably heroic score.
EDIT: If anything it opens like Wolverine And The X Men, which is...weird.
Also Storm has Haruka's voice-actress, that's disconcerting somehow.

"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy Ent
I'm liking it so far. I like the character designs, which I didn't for the Wolverine anime. Mad House really got their Heroic Build designs down. I think this one might work better than either the Iron Man or Wolverine anime simply because they're not going to be making up a bunch of characters.
Fight smart, not fair.
