I don't know what that is, so...
Anyway, Luke basically bear Vader in their duel? Except they didn't really finish, and he was only winning because Vader pushed him into using the Dark Side.
I know Thrawn's whole deal is studying a culture's art to learn about how they think, but wouldn't studying their music, literature or cuisine teach you just as much about them?
Literature, perhaps.
Not all cultures would have music in a space setting (since that necessitates air at a certain atmospheric pressure and of a certain chemical constitution)
I imagine cuisine wouldn't reveal much beyond "What nonsapient ( or sometimes sapient ) living creatures on their homeplanet are edible?"

Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youI would think music falls under art although it's a bit harder to show a vast music collection than an art collection.
There is a certain amount of aesthetic information to music, but I feel like it's less unique than art, and since Thrawn debuted in a prose work, describing visual art is easier and more effective than describing music.
Besides, the techniques used in music are more exclusive if you haven't studied music. It's harder to teach yourself to play music than it is to teach yourself how to draw or carve or paint. At least, it would be for me.
Say to the others who did not follow through You're still our brothers, and we will fight for youIt might just be some sort of subconscious prejudice on Thrawn's part, too. The man is very smart, but even he can make mistakes (like underestimating the meaning of music, perhaps)
"All you Fascists bound to lose."And Vader may have been pulling punches too.
It could be that Yoda and Obi Wan hoped that Luke being Vader's son might cause Vader to not hit as hard as he could.
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."You know who I hope we see at some point? Wullf Yularen. Who's he you ask? He was the captain of Anakin's star destroyer during the Clone Wars. Since then he's become the head of the Imperial Security Bureau. That mean he's Kallus' boss.
Well, he apparently died on the Death Star, so if they want to include him, they better do it soon.
Oh God! Natural light! What's the rush? I mean it's not like Rebels is going to move past the events of A New Hope. Is it?
Well, I believe someone mentioned that they'd be showing the events of Rogue One from their perspective (I still haven't seen it, by the way, so no spoilers), so I'd imagine that that would be pretty close.
Oh God! Natural light!(not a spoiler for Rogue One, but tagging just in case): Rogue One takes place a few years from where Rebels is at right now. The show could easily last long enough for us to see it from their perspective, but it's not going to be this season.
The current season of Rebels takes place roughly three years before the Battle of Yavin (the destruction of the first Death Star). Rogue One takes place mere days before it. So we have a way to go. Also, given how much of a massacre the assault on Scarif was, I can't see them showing it on Rebels.
Also, Wil, pretty much everyone in this thread knows who Yularen was. He was a recurring character on The Clone Wars.
Rogue One spoilers
The Ghost only seems to be involved in the space battle and the show has never shied away from ships being destroyed, so I don't think there would be an issue
Ships, yes. But most of the fleet? I don't think that's Rebels' style.
On another note, Saw will be voiced by Forest Whitaker.
I'm beginning to suspect the reason Ben Kenobi and Yoda don't incorporate Kanen and Ezra into their Luke plan is political, and that the party may well survive to and past the events of A New Hope.
Like, the outcome of Ezra vision quest to find how to destroy the sith could be "actually, I don't want to be a part of this. I chose this fight, but this other kid Luke doesn't get that option, count me out. The Empire is a big beast and my time is better spent taking out its infrastructure than just two figureheads."
Or Ben sees too much dark side in Ezra and is bitch about it because he's still grieving the betrayal of Anakin.
Or "if you fight Darth Vader, you'll get wrecked. Like the last time you fought him, but without the surviving. Pretty sure his long-lost son has a better chance of slipping under his guard and killing him. And we've also got a long-lost daughter as a backup."
I saw one theory that Luke found Ezra and/or Kanan and trained with them between Empire and Jedi, explaining how he made such a big power jump between films.
I still say they're not on Yoda's list because they won't be Jedi by the end of it all.
The comics do have Leia NOT mention Kanen and Erza to Luke post A New Hope when he's looking for mentors.
Not being able to find Ezra and Kanen is one thing, not even mentioning them implies some kind of agreement or impossibility.
Ezra and Kanen (or Ben) making it clear that there's not going to be interaction is a handy way to allow one, or both of them, to still be alive.
Saying that, I suspect this cartoon won't see reason to have more than five seasons, and it's a long road to Aldaraan.
I think the events of Rogue One and ANH from the Ghost crew's perspective would be a fitting series finale.
Agreed.
Thinking about my wish list of things I want to see in the remaining run of the series, things are pretty tight for space.
I genuinely hope we see the efforts to actually link up all the rebel cells into one freshly assembled alliance we see in Rogue One.
I'd like to see the core worlds and see if they're getting fat off the Empire plundering the outer rim.
I want to see Aldaraan, Bail and Leia together.
I want to see Barris. Honestly seeing the rebellion dealing with a dark side user who genuinely wants to aid their cause would be interesting.
I want to see Codey, hopefully as an Empire Loyalist to contrast Rex and allow for brother pain.
I don't know if I'd call Barriss a dark side user. She never said anything about the dark side. In fact she was kind of against the whole notion of the Jedi fighting at all. I mean she could have turned to the dark side later on...
Is Tarkin in Rogue One? I know they found this guy who looks just like him when they were shooting Revenge of the Sith and were so excited about it they cast him as Tarkin for a cameo at the end of the movie. Is he playing Tarkin? I heard something about using CG to revive Peter Cushing, but someone has to do his voice, right?
