[up] That's what I meant by get rid of the Senate,i.e destroy the current one. But honestly the Jedi don't seem to have the slights clue on how to conduct a coup. While the Jedi strike team went to arrest the Chancellor, Skywalker should have been sent to give some kind of public address (I'm sure the temple has the tech for that sort of thing, calling Palpatine a traitor. As one of the Republic's most revered war heroes, he was one of the few who could have convinced the public to turn on the Palpatine, save for Plaps himself through his own reprehensible actions. Meanwhile, the rest of the Jedi should have been contacted, especially the council members in the field, and ordered to disengage from whatever battle they were in and travel to Coriscausnt immediately. And the Jedi at the temple should have been warned about the Sith lord,as I recall they were surprised when Skywalker showed up with Clone troopers in the novelization. In short, they should have done anything but just waltz in and try to arrest the Chancellor. That said they still would have failed, all efforts by the council would as soon as Anakin threw in his lot with the would be Emperor.

I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom.

No, if they made any sort of public announcement, it would only guarantee that Palps would be ready for them.

[up] Not if they did it right while they were making the arrest. However much of a threat Palpatine is as a warrior pales into how much power he posses as head of the Republic.

[up][up]That. They probably intended to make an announcement right after killing him.

[up]He would still know the Jedi were up to something if they called an emergency press conference.

I think they were assuming that everything would remain the same - that they could arrest the Chancellor as easily as any other threat to the galaxy, and shut everything down, returning things to the way they were, as if Palpatine hadn't manipulated and essentially created a galaxy where that couldn't possibly work. In this sense they were being pretty damn naive, which makes sense because despite having suspicions they were very blind to the extent to which Palpatine had warped the universe they knew.

Even if there was no other way to stop him, there was no way arresting Palpatine wouldn't have split the Republic even more - which might have ultimately played into Palpatine's hands in some way anyway. It was quite the Catch 22.

From the Jedi's perspective, they know they messed up. Whatever happens next they are already thoroughly screwed, and so is the Republic. But by going in and getting Palpatine out of power, one way or the other, the Senate is no longer under the direct and total control of a Sith - which automatically makes it better than just leaving him in control.

I hope that clip isn't Ahsoka dying. My first impression was that she was having some kind of horrible vision, given the blurs around her, but I dunno...

I have a pretty strong suspicion about what that scene is, but it's based on mildly spoileriffic knowledge so I'm not sure I should mention it.

First 50 pages of Dark Disciple can be read here!

So the episodes that made up the story here are: "Lethal Alliance," "The Mission," "Conspirators," "Dark Disciple," "Saving Vos Parts I and II," "Traitor" and "The Path."

My thoughts as I read along - Chapter 1: Um, why are younglings mentioned when they aren't jedi? Anakin agreeing with Mace is... interesting, nevermind the fact that Mace is actually being so extreme. I was worried that the Jedi being this extreme would be too out of character, but the way Mace described the situation made it seem like a sensible if incredibly difficult decision to make. Yoda sounded really saddened too. Chapter 2: Meh, wasn't that interesting. Not really much to say, the characters weren't really much. Chapter 3: Did Vos just reference Obi-Wan and Ventress' Foe Yay? XD And Obi-Wan admitting she's attractive and recommending that Vos should flirt with her? This is... interesting. Chapter 4: "Bald banshee." XD Boba drinks alcohol? And here's the animatic scene with Ventress chasing that guy! Chapter 5: "Asajj Ventress stepped forward, yanked the laserbrain off her bounty and punched him soundly in the jaw." And Ventress finds Vos physically attractive despite barely being able to stand him to the point where the narrator calls him "the Idiot"... here we go! And wow, Vos must sure be a pain if she regards him as the most annoying man she's ever met. XD Chapter 6: And Vos decides he finds Ventress attractive as well, ding! Obi-Wan and Vos chat, and him and Ventress start to work together.

So I guess I overall like this so far, even if there are a few silly things here and there (seriously, I thought youngling only referred to kid Jedi, not kids in general).

EDIT: The Siege of Lothal teaser has me hyped, that's for sure. That Ahsoka scene though...

I find it interesting that Obi-Wan's reaction to Anakin volunteering to go on an assassination mission with Vos is more to the 'Anakin and Vos together' than the fact he wants to join in on that mission.

I also find it interesting that the reason Anakin seems to be in on so many Council war meetings is because Obi-Wan invites him, apparently.

My god was that first scene going to be in the episode? I keep forgetting how dark this series could get but goddam introducing us to a child character only to off her immediacy, that's just depressing. Also they appear to be trying to reintegrate Shaterpoint back into canon, seeing as Mace is the one who suggests assassinating Duku, and wonders if they haven't done everything possible to win the war.

I Bring Doom, and a bit of gloom, but mostly gloom.

That trailer looks AMAZING.

I'll admit, I've read a few spoilerific posts on TFN, and it just sounds amazing! I'm so excited. This is just going to be so epic.

What could have Ahsoka so horrified? I agree, the edges were blurry, and looked like it was likely she was having a vision, but, WOW.

Speaking of the apprentice....

The Trailer for Star Wars Uprising The concept alone has me far more hyped than I would normally be for an IOS game. Does anyone know how the gameplay will work?

Also what were those buildings in the background? They sure don't look like anything on Lothal. They remind me a bit of the architecture we saw on Onderon.

[up] I didn't realize that before. You're right.

Although, but maybe because it's night, the color looks very dark compared to the light sandytan-purple roofs of TCW Onderon.

Really just want this episode to air NOW! gringringrin
