Some Beyblade game or something?
I'm quite sure it's not a Beyblade game. It sounds a lot like one and it's very similar, but it isn't. It had graffiti on its artwork cover. Also I remember some arenas: one was in the sky and there was another one in a warehouse. The goal wasn't to knock the person off (there were electrified walls around the arena) but to charge your mon up to hit the other guy until he dies.
EDIT: I'm also pretty sure it was japanease. It may not have been localised though...

...Let us in...I haven't played this game, but something tells me you're misusing the term Darker and Edgier.
Modified Ura-nage, Torture RackYeah, probably actually :/. So...Become darker and scarier in design? I dunno.

I should probably ask this question somewhere else but I just remembered a game I played when I was a wee child, and I can't find anything on it.
Basically, it's an old PS One game that featured monsters on tops. The monsters would smash into each other while riding their razor edged tops and the harder you smashed into your opponent, the more power meter you would get. When you have enough power, you get to attack the opponent and try to lower their HP to zero.
The monsters in the game included an armadillo with a melee attack, a strange green dinosaur/alien-like thing that could shoot it's head off like a boomerang, an alien and a fire wizard that starts channelling for an unblockable attack if not hit during the channelling, and others I'm obviously forgetting. Also, the monsters evolved from cute and cuddly to Darker and Edgier.
You would pick 3 mons as your party and they would face an opponent with three mons 1v1. I have no idea what the game is called. Does anyone here remember a game like that?
