Char Cole has some legitimately funny moments, and some legitimately well plotted moments, but mostly seems to just hop around yelling "I have potential! I have potential!" and the dreadful realization that you would be better off dropping it for five years and then coming back to truly enjoy the quality sinks in.
The drawings are good and passable, but lack distinction, but like everything else, has potential.
So yeah, it's good, but I keep feeling offset by the fact that in a year or two down the road it will probably be so much better.

My ijbm was about how I had gotten linked to it, but had no memory of who linked me to it, so I couldn't yell at the buggerhead for making me waste an afternoon when I could be doing homework.

Read my stories!Plea its case? *shrug* This is one of the things I like in a more holistic sort of way. Just, the general sense that the author knows what makes a good story, or is at least working on figuring it out.
To try and isolate parts I like... Well, pretty much all the characters are entertaining, I guess. And while the story goes rather slow (college student update schedule...), Kyrio does ensure that each thread is making some progress instead of locking in the status quo.
But to draw you into the story? I suppose the key point of interest is how it conscientiously diverges from the standard Mystery Dungeon plot. "You were a human, now POOF! you're a Pokémon, but you're in a Pokémon-only universe and have amnesia which never really clears up" makes the "former human" backstory more of a gimmick than anything. Here, Cole remembers his human life perfectly well, remains firmly in his own world, and has a family desperate to find out just where their son's gotten off to.
From you, that's practically praise. But this buggerhead is firmly in the "watch potential blossom as it happens" camp.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? So, just what is Moah trying to do? And is that doctor really trying to help Cole, or does he have ulterior motives?
"USE YOUR WORDS NOT THE FABRIC OF THE UNIVERSE" ''memyselfand I 2"Maoh? Seems to simply be trying to push Cole's instincts as dominant as he can. This non-canon-but-in-character post implies he doesn't have anything "better" to do.
Cedar, is a bit of a puzzle. Maybe he holds resentment towards Cole's dad for being appointed primary professor of the region, maybe he's perfectly fine doing his own thing. At the least, he seems legitimately interested in getting whatever data he can from Cole right now.

Something tells me that no one would know of this comic if it weren't for Tangent...
One of my few regrets about being born female is the inability to grow a handlebar mustache. -LandstanderActually, I was indirectly linked to it by Medinoc's edit on Defeat Means Friendship.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? And I think I found the author's DA because of some El Goonish Shive fan art.
"And as long as a sack of shit is not a good thing to be, chivalry will never die."Reminds me of a complaint I have. Very obviously geared towards the first gen genre. I get not wanting to include all the pokémon ever, but after a while it gets a bit empty with only 150 pokémon.
Read my stories! That can be attributed to the author not actually playing any post-Gen1 game beyond Mystery Dungeon.
(Though there is one depiction of an Unown if you pay attention.)
But while I can sympathize with the desire to see the newer mons, does excluding them actually do anything to adversely impact the story?
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? No, like I said, at first, it's fine, it's long term though, that the gap shows, I think. It's a fridge logic thing, and it also bothers me with Manly Guys Doing Manly Things. I mean, at least the inclusion of 2nd gen would be nice, since it added steel and dark to the types.

Read my stories!Well... draft of an update, sans shading and dialogue.
I'm kinda wanting the dialogue now...
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? This comic was BANNED for not meeting 4kids standards
Read my stories!Ooh this is nice. ^__^ I hope it lasts.
Thanks for the reviews guys :P It's far more useful to know what I do wrong than what I do right. I do apologize for the delays, but I'm doing what I can. Things should pick up next week after all my finals are taken care of.
Also for the record, I've fallen out of love with EGS :P
Also, it's a G1 region! But there are mons from other generations in the storyline. I just haven't gotten to them yet. And they are kind of rare.

Oooh! Howdy sira'am! Can't wait!
Read my stories! Not much dialogue added, it turns out.
Still, comments have noted that Cole has clearly earned the Chapter 9 achievement from Portal 2 now.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages? The little dot magically disappears in the third panel. Also, looks like he's trying a more artistic panel layout.
Read my stories!4Kids ain't gonna like this one either.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?I'm all for the word fuck, but it's a bit odd when it's broken 3 or so times on a page after a long period of not cursing.
Read my stories!I would chastise him, but it has also been a bit since someone last tried to kill him. And this came up a lot more unexpectedly.
Wondering if the dialogue changes in panels 3 and 7 are just an instance of Attack! Attack... Retreat! Retreat!, or if he's slipping into another episode.
Do you highlight everything looking for secret messages?Cole's language sours whenever he's stressed, yes. It'll dissipate as he calms down. :) Also I'm considering dropping the censor entirely. Honestly after the first battle broke it I probably shouldn't have put it back.
Trope Page
Last thread died with maybe three posts, and Mr AHR's IJBM thread is obviously gone now. But I continue to hope we can get some discussion going.
Comic should be updating regularly again, now. And the latest page seems to have finally brought us to the chapter cover teaster, albeit with some inconsistencies.
