I'm sorely tempted to just talk about how Ocelot would probably be a variant of a Femme Fatale if he was female just so I can forget that this happened and forget just how fucking stupid and gullible I am.

Seriously though, poor Kojima. Joke articles aside, the man needs a much deserved break from Metal Gear. After the TPP is done, Konami really needs to just give him free rein for his next project. Maybe it will be a Snatcher, Policenauts or Zo E sequel, or maybe it'll be something completely new.

Though, he did enjoy working on Peace Walker and is enjoying this project as well, so who knows. Maybe he's just gay for Big Boss!

[up][up] Because that rescue mission didn't make that evident enough. Bossjima!

Something I just realized - remember the part from the trailer where Kaz says the "I'm gonna make them give back our past" speech while soldiers in Camp Omega abuse the prisoner? We never saw any of that in Ground Zeroes, yet it seems to take place at that time. What's up with that? Cut content?

I think Kaz's line is from somewhere else in the game.

But as for the actual abuse scene, I dunno.

I wouldn't assume that the abuse scene is cut content or necessarily takes place during GZ; it could just be a flashback of Chico's or someone else's experiences at Camp Omega, or it could be a TPP mission that takes place there.

Given the fact the Cobras had mini-bombs inside their bodies to prevent being taken prisoner, why didn't XOF use those on Paz?

Alos, in regards to XOF, how many of them are there if they can man an all-out assault on Mother Base anyways?

It didn't seem like there were that many guys in XOF, like what, 7 or 8 helicopters?

So you figure that plus a dozen guys inside each Blackhawk, you've only got about 100 people.

I was under the impression that XOF only managed to destroy Mother Base because all the big weapons and gear were hidden away and that they caught everyone completely by surprise.

Oh really when?

[up] Thanks

But what about the "bomb sizes" issue?

[up][up][up]XOF did. Two of them, in fact. I think you mean Cipher. As for the size of the bombs, Skullface is a depraved, sadistic monster. Why would he use the easy, comfortable micro-bombs when he can... do what he did?

In regards to the assault on Mother Base, like [up][up] said, it was a combination of ZEKE and all related equipment being dropped to the seafloor; Big Boss being away on assignment; all of Amanda's people being sent out specifically to maintain a "good" image for the international community; and, most importantly, Kaz and the remaining soldiers genuinely believing that it was a UN inspection team, so they likely hid away all of the other stuff that would have earned them a poor opinion.

They also thought that there would be a crapton of news teams and their helicopters, so it is probable that the Blackhawks we saw leaving camp Omega were not the entirety of XOF.

Skull Face just really wanted to fuck with Big Boss' head before killing him, I think.

Now that I think about it, what about soldiers who weren't actually at Mother Base when XOF carried out their plan? Outer Ops teams, etc? My guess is the Mother Base survivors and other MSF staff who weren't there at the time are the ones who create Diamond Dogs.

I was talking about the bombs that detonated when, for example, after Big Boss took out The Pain.

As for the assault on Mother Base, like [up][up] said, it was a combination of ZEKE and all related equipment being dropped to the seafloor; Big Boss being away on assignment; all of Amanda's people being sent out specifically to maintain a "good" image for the international community; and, most importantly, Kaz and the remaining soldiers genuinely believing that it was a UN inspection team, so they likely hid away all of the other stuff that would have earned them a poor opinion.

But still, given how many XOF troops were seen attacking the base, surely the MSF troops sans Amanda's FSLN/SNLF would have still given XOF a hard time, since they're made up of highly-trained soldiers from both sides of the Iron Curtain?

Also, in regards to what type of bombs Skull Face used, wouldn't inserting mini-bombs through the "bottom entrances" still be painful, which could explain why Skull Face had Paz raped, sadism aside?

Surprise is a huge factor, armies much bigger than MSF have been brought down thanks to a good ambush.

And I'm going to go ahead and assume with in addition to ZEKE, they stored most of their heavier weapons and vehicles. Not to mention at any given time your entire army isn't ready for combat.

Like America has a little under 10,000 Abrams tanks, barely a fraction of those are ready for combat at this exact second. Most are probably half assembled in some machine shop for routine maintenance and repairs. Or in storage

And I'm fairly sure they just cut Paz open anyway

I know, that's why there were two other sentences in that paragraph discussing why instead of using one of those, Skullface raped her, raped her and Chico via each other, cut her guy open, ripped out half the organs, replaced them with a bomb marked with a peace symbol, stitched her up, and then forced a second bomb through her birth canal. Sure, he could have just used micro bombs like COBRA unit had, which yes, still would have been painful; but Skullface is a depraved, sadistic monster, and he wants Big Boss and everyone associated with him to suffer.

I'm still wondering just what the history is between Skull Face, Big Boss and Zero. We already know Skull Face's backstory, so he can't be a character from one of the previous games, although he could be pulling a Killing Joke and just making shit up to mess with people.

So guys... I'm kinda wondering... what do you think the piece of debris lodged in BB's skull is? I'd like to think it's something specific, like a piece of Mother Base or something. That would make it even more symbolic and stuff.

Also, is Kaz gonna get some shiny new red robolimbs like Big Boss? Diamond Dogs has gotta have a budget for this kind of thing.

[up] It doesn't appear that BB has that debris in his head during the hospital stay, so I'm thinking that it'll pop up during or after the escape. As for Kaz, we just don't know, although I speculate that he'll be going without his right arm and left foot for a while—you can see a crutch leaning on the table right next to him during Huey's torture—before getting (kickass) robot parts of his own.

Hmm, you're right... he doesn't appear to have the horn until after the hospital chapter, though it might be covered up by bandages post-coma.

Here's an idea; replacement limbs for Kaz have to be unlocked somehow through gameplay. Maybe the tech is rare, or maybe it's really expensive. Even if it had minimal/no gameplay benefit I'd still rush to do it just so Kaz could have his limbs back.

Also, I hope there's a cathartic sequence where we get to lay waste to XOF headquarters in a similar fashion to their trashing of Mother Base.

I really wish there was a save import from Peace Walker, just so we could have a monument in Diamond Dogs HQ with all the names of fallen MSF members on it.

So did Big Boss just up and take Zadornov's rocket hand or something?

Does this mean we can rocket punch people now?

[up][up][up][up] I don't think so—those pieces of debris protrude out of his forehead quite noticeably, so you'd see some sign of it even underneath that relatively thin layer of bandages.

[up] Hopefully, BB would have better aim with his (or just have enemies that are shittier at dodging).

If Big Boss doesn't get the chunk in his head during the chopper crash that presumably put him in the coma, then when?

During the hospital escape maybe?
