I thought it was an okay finale, but not without pacing and story flaws (like Doctor Octopus's plan itself).

At least it's one less thing for me to aimlessly hate.

I read that [ MJ enrolls into SHIELD Academy. That's awesome. I don't mind they didn't follow up on their dating from earlier in the season, you sort of know they'll wind up together eventually and be side by side as crime-fighting partners

All in all a "Meh" kind of show.

Tom Kenny's Doc Ock was the best thing about this whole series.

But all in all this show just isn't Spider-Man to me.

[up]Pretty much, yeah. I didn't care much for most of the new stuff, the humor and Spidey's personnality were OBNOXIOUS as hell, the cameos felt forced and a lot of elements they added were generic. But the animation was good and Doc Ock was awesome I admit.

I kinda wish they didn't keep changing Ock's design, from going bald with new goggles, to just new goggles, to a throwback to his comics outfit after the nanites fix him up and allow him to walk.

It kinda feels like the last was kind of trying to do an "MCU" update, although I've always felt a bit conflicted on the series (and the MAU's) attempts to capitalize on the success on the movies.

Or, more logically, I just have issues adapting to change.

Yeah, I share that feeling. Annoying how they clearly always try to match the MCU even when it doesn't make sense (Klaw, anyone?). In this case, my favourite design for Doc Ock frankly was the first one in this show. Though to be fair, at least most of his changes here made sense.

[up]×4

Kids loved it though and in the end, that's the opinion the networks care about, not ours.

And in the end, it's still one of the longest running Spider-Man shows and the only one to get a proper finale.

[up]So? We still don't care. As far as we are concerned, it still was a mediocre show. I'm glad it's finally over regardless; I won't miss that thing. If anything, the fact it somehow lasted longer than any other Spider-Man show to date only makes its existence more obnoxious to me. Hopefully another one will last longer later.

I've seen a fair amount of episodes from Ultimate Spider-Man. It has exciting action, good jokes, and nice chemistry between the characters.

That goddang Boston episode on the other hand...

Those lame jokes about the Kennedy-esque accent, the mayor of Boston being an A-Hole who cares more about Spider-Man's marketability than his superpowers, Spider-Man's Boston butler offering him baked beans and boston cream pies, and a Patriot being one of the villains (the writers would say it's a reference to the American Revolution and not a knock on the NFL team but I'd take that with a grain of salt).

When Spider-Man goes back to New York, the new Boston Super-Hero is completely unoriginal: 1/3 Spider-Man rip-off, 1/3 Batman rip-off and 1/3 Iron Man rip-off

The episode ends with Peter Parker telling Aunt May he'd rather have Chinese food than clam chowder, which is stupid for two reasons

1. Chinese food is popular in every American city, and Boston is no exception.

2. Peter Parker implies that clam chowder is a Boston speciality. As any "Rocket Power" fan can tell you: Manhattan has their own style of clam chowder.

Either you've seen a completely different USM show than I did, or you see something in that show that I don't. Because that description pretty much is the complete opposite of what I know about it.

[up][up] I'm pretty sure Joe Quesada wrote that episode, or at least was heavily involved in it.

I've only seen the first season, and I didn't care for much of what I saw. Strangely, the show's attempt at humor kept boring me instead.

Do the future seasons get much better, or is it just more of the same?

[up]... it gets slightly better, in that there are hints of good parts, but overall... yeah it's pretty much the same.

Peter Parker implies that clam chowder is a Boston speciality. As any "Rocket Power" fan can tell you: Manhattan has their own style of clam chowder.

It's something of a minor joke among East Coast-ers that nobody actually cares about Manhattan Clam Chowder. Bascially every port town that advertises seafood and such will emphasize the Boston Clam Chowder and have the Manhattan Clam Chowder as a kind of special or - at times - an afterthought.

A lot of people assume that Boston Clam Chowder is the only one that exists.
