You may have heard about Mortal Kombat getting banned down here, but there's a whole lot of bullshit the Australian government expects us to take:

WTF Australia? Why aren't we revolting?

Time to use the Warhammer40000 strategy to eliminate this oppression. Defeat the enemy (Conroy and his cronies), and then destroy his works, until nothing is left but the ashes. Then burn the ashes until all memory of these tyrants are utterly lost, for that is the way of the Imperium of Man and the only way a Space Marine can win.

Also this. We're not even run by competent fascists, even Mussolini would laugh Conroy out of the manor for his outrageous amounts of fail in trying to oppress us when young people as young as 8 years old can get past the parental lock he's forcing on T Vs.

[up] I don't want to be annoying, but a lot of T Vs have a parental lock option already built in. Why would manufacturers make parental lock-free firmware for their T Vs only for Australia? That's a waste of money.

I'm not trying to be rude, but this is why I'm glad I don't live in Australia. They really need to chill out with the censorship.

You're seriously calling Australia a fascist country? The government is overloading on Think of the Children! and You Can Panic Now, but any more democratic and it would be... uh, New Zealand?

Children sending and receiving sexually explicit images on mobile phones - sexting - are also potentially liable under child pornography laws.

Really? This actually happens in real life? I thought this was just a crazy L&O:SVU plotline!

Under the current laws, yes, it is child porn trafficking. Don't know if anyone has been convicted on it though.

EDIT: Former schoolteacher Mike Phillips, a co-author of the Monash study, said it was difficult to keep pace with digital technologies. His son Riley, 14, uses social networking sites such as Skype and Steam, a multiplayer games site, about five times a week.

I haven't really used skype but isn't it a phone? Shouldn't you already know someone your calling? And steam isn't really a social networking site.

Last week police charged a 17-year-old schoolboy with harassment in Sydney for allegedly hijacking a girl's Facebook page and posting an open invitation to her 16th birthday party, which drew more than 200,000 replies.

How is that harassment? How did something like that get 200,000 replies?

I should not be nitpicking, but:

His son Riley, 14, uses social networking sites such as Skype and Steam, a multiplayer games site, about five times a week.
That sentence breaks down as "social networking sites such as Skype" and "Steam, a multiplayer games site"

Instead of "skype and steam", it would've been easier to read if something like "skype as well as steam" had been used.

I'm not saying Australia is a fascist country at this point, what I am saying is, that in terms of being oppressive, Mussolini - one of the least successful fascist government leaders, would accuse these clowns of Poke the Poodle when it comes to oppressing people and sending them into death camps.

I believe the best kinds of dictatorships are the wussy ones, at least then you don't get death camped.
