To start off, what do you think Nintendo would be like if they were a big electronics giant? As in, they don't just make consoles, they make phones, DVD players, PCs, and TVs.

One thing's for sure, though. Those phones would be Made of Nintendium, making them nigh indestructible.

First of all, you could only email your friends after you enter in their friend codes. Also, it would be a bitch to set up the TVs and you couldn't talk to people on the phone unless you buy the official Nintendo communication peripheral. For home theaters, you would have to buy an extra controller an extra seat for each viewer. Finally, after you buy the official Nintendo phone, you will be hounded by ads for the light version, the camera version, the larger version with a camera, and the 3-D version of the phone.

Anything else?

You know, I didn't consider that they would make an OS for their own PC. I thought they would just make P Cs that have Microsoft Windows. I mean, Sony does that.

Also, the phone ads wouldn't be too bothersome. We're already hounded by ads for all of the phones on the market: the iPhone, Blackberry, Droid, etc., so I'm not bothered by that.

Although I don't want Nintendo limit themselves creatively, I find it really endearing that they stick with games and consoles. They focus on one thing and do great at it instead of spreading out and do mediocre at each.

I know with their mainstream success, it wouldn't be too far off to assume they'd make phones or something. But the fact they're doing so well gives them all the less reason to branch out.
