I think it should at least be Imposter Bob Has No Accent because otherwise it looks like the trope emphasis is on Has No Accent rather than Imposter. It makes the trope seem narrower than it is. That said, I have no idea who the Jamie in the current title is.

In my honest opinion, I believe the current trope name will always have a chance of being misconstrued as being narrower than it is with the phrase Has No Accent in the title, regardless of any number of other words are in the title with it.

The word "Impostor" certainly doesn't need the most emphasis in any case no matter what though. We're dealing with a trope that calls attention to a detail about an impostor (albiet a detail that is much more general than anything to do with accents); that should be emphasized more than anything about the existence of an impostor itself.

[up]The Jamie in the title is (as mentioned by someone else) from old Doctor Who. The reason his name is used is because when his body was body-snatched in one episode, the body-snatcher didn't keep Jamie's iconic Scottish accent. That said, I still agree that the name could cause some confusion. I like Something About You Isnt Right, personally.

And with the magical new system, we can do it without a ptitle.

[up] I believe so. If we assign it to Bob then it's obviously a placeholder name.

Still sounds like it's just about accents, IMO.

I agree with Sean and Doctorvon that mentioning accents in the name is likely to limit the uptake of the trope. Maybe something like Imposter Forgot One Detail?

I like Flawed Impersonation from earlier in the thread, though Impostor Forgot One Detail is a bit more specific. If nothing else, I have to point out that everyone has an accent, so saying someone has no accent is completely wrong (sorry, I'll stop being a linguist for now).

Flawed Impersonation sounds like it could be referring to a really bad stand-up comic doing lame impressions of a famous person. But it's still better than any of the options that mention accents.

I don't. It sounds more like failing Something Only They Would Say than this trope.

Should we put a crowner up, then?

I'll suggest Identifiable Impostor myself.

I broadly interpret the concept behind this trope as, "A character's doppelganger possessing some trait or traits that the original character does not have so as to to allow an audience to more easily distinguish between the two (even if other characters may not notice)."

Hold on a tick, you skipped the single-prop. The current name works fine—we shouldn't need to rename at all.

Rhymes with "Protracted."

[up]10 wicks is not "works fine", and the trope has nothing to do with accents, so the name is misleading and likely to see continued severe underuse for non-accent-related instances. "Works fine" is an argument for established tropes. It doesn't apply to just-launched ones. "Good enough" might apply to the just-launched, but I think you'll find few agree with you if you try to argue that in this case.

I don't see any reason to think it's because of the name. It was launched prematurely—it didn't gather enough examples and it never got cross-wicking. Sending it back to YKTTW to gather more examples would be a better solution than renaming.

It has all the hallmarks of a bad name: it's misleading, overly specific, and generally non-indicative. But I'm fine with cutting it and sending it back to YKTTW to get a good name and more examples.

I think a cut and more time in the YKTTW oven might be a good thing.

Bumping. I would actually prefer The Imposter Forgot One Detail, really. That said, yes, this is one of the tropes among many Whovians launched with only their show in mind.
