I was wondering that. So the plan was to hit Cody with the switch so they'd get the best player against Hijack? But Hijack clearly doesn't care about the rules anymore, he just got tagged and is still kicking. So to speak.
Also, I like Cody, but seeing his smug face get hitball'd was pretty damn satisfying.
The only thing I can think of is that he'd kicking it up to give himself some time to grab it, which would make whoever threw the ball (that Yugioh kid?) out instead of Hijack. I think.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I think Hijack is going to hit one of the gym lamps with that upward ball.
He caught it and everything continues to be over-dramatic.
Very veiny.
Dimitri looks like he's shouting a warning.
Cody vs. Hijack, go!
Clever use of tactics. Seems they have been following the Joseph Joestar school of combat.
Personally, I'd say this specific plan came right from the Naruto Uzumaki playbook.
I have a message from another time...Can I say that I find the super-veiny thing to be really disturbing? It just bothers the hell out of me. Gross, dudes, seriously. Ew.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.scott pilgrim reference nice
"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeIt can't possibly be healthy for Jeff, that's for sure. What was that about not wanting to hurt him, Hijack?
Where?

"There's not a girl alive who wouldn't be happy being called cute." ~Tamamo-no-MaeAlt text. Can't read, on mobile.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Ah, it says:
you can, actually.
Try tapping (double tapping, maybe?) on the comic image itself.
I have a message from another time...I also find the veiny thing kinda weird and gross.
Also, poor anime kid. I imagine that he will have to go back to his mentor, hear a lecture about the value of learning from failure, then come back stronger than ever.
Writer, or something. And... a button? 🖲️Yeah, it looks like he's pushing Jeff's muscles to their absolute limit because "hey, these aren't my muscles. I don't feel a thing!"
Even if Jeff isn't suffering any permanent damage, he's probably gonna be too sore to get out of bed in the morning.
I have a message from another time...The veins are creeping me out now, too.
Mostly does better things now. Key word mostly. Writes things, but you'll never find them. Or you can ask.—> Personally, I'd say this specific plan came right from the Naruto Uzumaki playbook.
Oh most definitely. Just imagine during that scene where the shadow ball pops back up... somehow... the dramatic Naruto convoluted plan music starting to play and you'll see what I mean.
Oh, I'm being even more specific than this. This plan happens almost exactly in Chapter 14 of Naruto.
Just, you know, with knives instead of hitballs.

I have a message from another time...Well Naruto had an extra step due to fancy shapechanging, but yeah nearly that.
It seems fairly Joseph Joestar to me. Like when he dealt with the Pillar Man Eisidisi by distracting him with a Hamon string trap that he thought he could avoid.
Multilayered distraction obviously happens in many things. This specific sequence, though, with
>distract
>throw a thing
>throw thing pretending to be a shadow of the thing
>both of those are distraction
>first distraction is real attack
is Naruto verbatim.
Jeff got hit last page, but now he's booting the hell out of the ball. He just pissed, or all according to planball?
