I wanna know what his home life is like. What are his parents like to raise him like this? Does he have siblings?

He's too anime to have living parents.

I sure hope dead parents aren't a requirement for becoming a spectral! Let's review:

• Max's mom is dead.
• Isabel is raised by her grandfather, with no indication of where her parents are.
• Ed lives with Isabel's grandfather so he's probably an orphan.

Yeah, some of those are pretty damn obscure. A move exclusive to Inkay that's only available through events? Yeah.

And then we find out that Rick's parents are a happily married elderly couple living in the next town over.

This page does strongly imply that Isabel's dad is alive and in Mayview, so... why haven't we seen him??

I guess these are Isabel's parents in panel six? Mixed race marriage I guess?

I vaguely remember Isabel's grandfather implying that her father was some sort of spineless wimp, and that's part of the reason she's training with her grandfather. But not sure.

Yeah that's probably them. Or the owners of the dog that found the incident hot in progress.

He does look like a wimp. Maybe Isabel moved to her grandpa's to get away from the family dog?

Probably parents, that ceiling lamp looks very hospital-y. Also she has the man's skin tone and the woman's hair colour and eyes.

Mostly they grab the first available thing they can find in the limited time they have. Unless it's Max's dad.

Damn. Isaac's being an ass, yet I can still see his side. And they brought out the auras and everything. I do hope Zack's gonna do something less obvious than turning him into a villain, though.

Villain? Nah. Antagonist for an arc? Maybe. Angry kid who does something everyone regrets? Almost certainly.

I can see Issac's point of view. How many of us have shared something private with a friend and then felt hurt when they offer nothing in return? True, a gift should never be given with any expectation of reward, but it damages the social contract when you feel like it's give and give and the other side just takes. Probably the "best case" for Issac is to just stop contributing to the Paranormal Club until they let him in.

At the same time, the way he's phrasing it to Max would make him think Isaac doesn't see him as anything but potential leverage.

Oddly enough, my sympathies used to be more with him, but after getting to know Isabel more last chapter...he is decidedly not in my good graces.

It seems clear to me that Spender's teaching style (along with the Consortium keeping him in the dark) are not helping matters, and Rick needs to get his ass in gear. However, Isaac is taking his frustration out on people who don't really have any say in the matter, and seems to be operating under a "with me or against me" mindset.

Hopefully they'll be able to get this smoothed out.
